How to do this? I've looked into it and everywhere seems to tell me to buy stuff to do it, but I've heard off several of my mates that you can do it for free. I've heard you can do it by having a certain script on a USB stick and putting it in your Xbox, and that you can download and install something that adds a tab on the Xbox Dashboard for screen capturing, and also that you can plug you Xbox into a PC monitor and have your PC running in the background with a screen capture program running...
:/..
Don't wanna spend monz if I don't have to.

HD PVR

Your friends lied to you, this is the only way to capture your tv screen unless you point a camera at it, which would be crappy quality.

£180.27!!!!1!11!!!one!!!11!1!!!!!1!eleven!1!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Know of anything more in the £1-20 range?

If you want to make black ops pr0 mlg m0nt4g3z, it has a built-in theatre mode.

There are cheaper tools for the same purpose. Some quick search in Google will return you effective hardware for your intentions. (with lower prices) However, HD-PVR got too much propaganda for it's simplicity. (lazybones)

It's out of stock on Amazon at the moment but it was £150 last time I looked. Play.com was flogging it for £150 an'all. There's also internal capture cards you can purchase that can be fitted into your PC (the PCI express slot(s)) which tend to be a little cheaper and, if you're a bit fussy like me, they'll also use up less electricity and save on plug sockets. The Blackmagic Intesity Pro is meant to be a pretty l33t card.

If you're a PC gamer, as I am, then FRAPS is your best bet. You'll need a decent computer to handle recording and gameplay though - I had to purchase an additional hard drive just to take the stress off my original hard drive. If you have a pair of SSDs then you'll be laughing.

Yes, I also realise I'm a week late or this thread but I want to help. :)

If your going for ok quality on xbox and its Standerd definition you could try a Dazzle Dvc 100 / platinum there not bad quality but can drop framerate.
