When it comes to a developer like Croteam, they don't waste valuable time and resources on costly DRM methods which consequently screws over the honest buyer rather than the pirates themselves. They instead use their clever minds and follow the successful path of Dark Souls developer From Software, by implementing an unkillable, hyper-speed, pink scorpion mutant of death which spawns when a game is cracked by pirates. This adorable nightmare will never die and will terrorize all pirates in every level, however, I can now imagine people pirating the game just to witness the bugger first-hand.

Haha, nice. That's what I want to see in games. Kinda

Makes for good DRM - everyone should do this. And then everyone is happy. Similarly with pirated films: make them all sit through two solid, unskippable hours of anti-piracy messages before they can even watch the film. And then take said interminable messages off legit copies because no one likes them and if you've paid for your copy, why should you have to see stuff like that at all?

If I made a game, I'd incorporate some annoying squeaky kid as my DRM who just talks incessantly in a high-pitched voice about anything and everything under the sun. Cannot be muted, cannot be killed, cannot be avoided. Kind of like any child character in a JRPG, really...
