Do I need to play the original to like that game? Which is better? I'm looking for an epic RPG with some meat to sink my teeth in, and since I have never explored the Star Wars universe it should be great for me. Is there some deluxe package that has all the best content or something? Is there any Star wars game that you can play as the Sith in for Pc?

Do these games even run on windows 7? And also any great rpg's and mass effect's level that you know of worth playing?

I played it before I played the original and really enjoyed it, however I would recommend installing the restoration mod as it essentially completes the end of the game. The original ending was incomplete and rushed due to Obsidian being forced to release the game earlier than they wanted to. I managed to run it on Vista, not sure about Windows 7 but there is usually a way to get them running. The original has the better story but there are a nice amount of improvements in the sequel with the combat and some of the systems.

Dragon Age: Origins is good.
I didn't finish it myself, because the game started lagging for no reason. Haven't reinstalled it yet, but after playing Leviathan (ME 3 DLC), I want to have some epic RPG moments again as well.

It all depends on preference I personally hated Sith lords tried to play it a whole bunch of times but I could never get into it. The first one however was the reason I got an Xbox and it to this day remains one of my all time favs, and no you don't have to be play the first game to do the second they're barely connected to be honest it's a different story I think, not a continuation.

You can get Kotor 1 on steam not sure about the second so I should imagine they would run on windows 7/8.

Rpgs like mass effect? Dragon Age; Origins is good I haven't played the sequel of that yet. Also Jade Empire is a bioware rpg meant to be quite good I was thinking of getting that some time in the future. Baldur's Gate series is a good set of games I liked them on the original xbox plus neverwinter nights. Skyrim, Deus Ex, Witcher, Alpha protocol, Diablo trilogy, Fallout series, Rage, Enslaved is worth checking out while not actually an rpg is has a cool story.

I definatley recommend Jade Empire, its storyline is predictable but it was quite a gem on the xbox.

Oh yeah, Jade Empire def worth a mention.
I never finished it either since it bugged for me at one point and the screen turned black (I could still hear voices).
That sucks it get's so good towards the end. I miss games like those on the original Xbox, rich yet still maintains simplicity.
