Sid Meier's Pirates

Just out of curiosity, is anyone here a fan of this game? I've been one since they came out with the old NES version, and the newer one for Xbox and PC is ridiculously enthralling and addictive. If you haven't tried them, they're certainly worth a shot.

Yeah, Sid Meier heads those projects too. Of all his work, I've only played one Civilization game and the Pirates games, but... I wish there were more folks in the industry like him.

So Sid is an actually person. Interesting, I've always thought of it as a company name.

I admittedly did too, for a while. Turns out he founded MicroProse with someone named Bill Stealey, though he eventually left it. He founded Firaxis Games in 1996, which makes his games these days, like Pirates and Civilization IV.
