Don't get too excited, this upcoming patch (already released for PS3) will not be fixing any of the quest bugs and or broken quests that people have stumbled upon. It will however fix some of the more prominent issues people have been having, especially on the console versions from PS3's severe lag issue to Xbox 360's faulty HDD installation. There are some NPC bug fixes, but not many.
As mentioned already the PS3 version has already been released today and clears out the crippling lag users have been experiencing. The Xbox 360 and PC versions however will not be arriving until the 30th (which is in 2 more days). To top it all off Bethesda has informed PC users that the Creation Kit will not be released at all this week and is still being worked on.
  • Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)
  • Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)
  • Fixed crash on startup when audio is set to sample rate other than 44100Hz (PC)
  • Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away
  • Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player's wedding dead
  • Dragon corpses now clean up properly
  • Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack
  • Fixed rare NPC sleeping animation bug
  • Fixed rare issue with dead corpses being cleared up prematurely
  • Skeleton Key will now work properly if player has no lockpicks in their inventory
  • Fixed rare issue with renaming enchanted weapons and armor
  • Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death
  • ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)
  • Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues (PC)
  • General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls (PC)
Source,

Any fixes are welcome and I havent had any quest issues yet but ive heard of a couple that need fixing so hopefully they can get another fix released for them soon.

  • Dragon corpses now clean up properly

Oh thank Talos. I've got like ten to fifteen dragon skeleton cluttering up the small Collage courtyard!

Yay! No more loud 360.

Yay! No more piling up dragon skeletons.

 at least thats one issue down for you, hopefully they continue patching and fix the others you had. Have to commend Bethesda for finally shipping a game with much less issues than both Fallout 3 and Oblivion (on 360 anyway).

I'm amazed I haven't bumped into the infamous flying-npc-spider-limbs-boomerang glitch that plagued Fallout 3/NV. Gave me terrible nightmares.

Instead I've had my companion fly half way across the map during a smelting activity.

Totally was like - Lydia:"Are you sure you have time for th--*swoosh*Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep."

Couldn't help but lol.

Ive got no idea where Lydia has gone, I was given another companion for a quest and she normally heads back to Dragons Reach but ive been back and checked everywhere there and shes nowhere to be found. Shes carrying some of my decent armour, weapons and Dragon Bones etc too. :|

Go suicide a few times by poking Giants and letting them smush you.

Hilarity ensues as they catapult you miles up in the air!

Did you buy Breezehome, the house in Whiterun? If so - she might be there, after you purchase it she automatically moves in.

If not - she's probs kicked the bucket m'afraid, that or it's a magical disappearing act glitch. Happened to a dog companion of mine... or so I thought. He turned up where I had bought him. Took me a while to realise that's where he'd be. Dumb dog.

I havent purchased a home yet, shes survived some pretty big fights and last time I saw her she was with me in town so wouldnt have had far to go to get to Dragonsreach. So doubt she would have bumped into any enemies on the way that she couldnt handle. She made it from Riften to Dragonsreach last time ok so seems unlikely she wouldnt make it from between Riverwood and Whiterun back there.

Hmm... Well, hey, maybe buy Breezehome then. She might appear there after you buy it. I'd recommend saving your game before you do, just incase she doesn't appear. You don't want those hard earned septims wasted.

Yeah I might try it at some point, I will keep an eye out for her and check back from time to time first. Shes replaceable though, just my hard earned loot she was carrying I was more bothered about.

EDIT* Hold on a second...

Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead'...

What? thats brilliant....

Shadowmere is better than any companion, I've found. All the "bugs" this patch relates to are nothing I've got an issue with :( I'd rather they sorted the quest-related stuff so I don't either have to reload the game or start an entire questline all over again just because right at the end it screws up *cough*Thieves Guild*cough*.

Yeah quest related stuff and the performance issues (on PS3) and the Hard Drive installation issue (360) should have been top of the list. Glad 2 out of the 3 have been sorted though so hopefully quest fixes are on way too.
