We are finally kicking off the Fable 2 Newsletter, to which you subscribed so many moons ago. There is quite a lot happening in the world of Fable 2 right now, especially with the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco taking place and it shouldn’t be too long until you’ll be playing the game yourself. Fable 2 is the sequel to the enchanting, engrossing and award winning action role playing game Fable.
Peter Molyneux made some exciting revelations about Fable 2 in yesterday’s Microsoft keynote speech and you might be thinking that we have revealed everything we're going to about Fable 2 for this conference.
But Couch Co-Op and the chance to earn Fable Gold upfront on Xbox Live Marketplace prior to the game's release, is only a part of our GDC unveil.
Peter intends to talk about and show even more about Fable 2 in another GDC talk (description below) on Friday 22nd February 2008 at 2.30pm PST / 5.30pm EST / 10.30pm GMT / 11.30pm CET. If you want to know more about Fable 2 you won't want to miss this! In due course, you can expect coverage to be posted on major gaming and news sites and we’ll try and list these as they come in on the official Lionhead website at http://www.lionhead.com/fable2.]
Peter Molyneux's stated ambition as a designer is to make Fable 2 a landmark game. In order to achieve this, three big design features have been added. The inspiration and rational behind these features will be discussed along with their evolution throughout the development process. The wider context of their impact and influence on the RPG genre will also be examined as the ambition is to evolve the genre itself. The talk will be supported by retrospective videos as well as live game examples
