i started a new game, traded a load of stuff to a friend so they could give it back to me, but now it won't let us interact, I've given all the stuff i really wanna keep

Why did you give him all the stuff if you wanted to keep it?

Was he really your friend?

If you started a new game, surely you could easily start again.
