Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

1.jpg

If you want a really good laugh at a sad attempt to put down the Xbox 360 check out this site.

Here's an article from Xbox360Wire about the site.
The part that gets me is the review of Lair 10/10 vs the review of BioShock 5/10 (Wait until it comes out for the PS3 is the recommendation ) When the rest of the industry has it clearly the opposite .

Lets look at some of the evidence
As I said above, it was referrals which actually made me notice this site in the first place. The article we posted was discussing the possibility of Dead Rising 2 showing up at TGS this year, and the rumours that it may not be a 360 exclusive title this time round. Before we move on, it’s important to read the original article to understand the context it was written in. In short, it was speculation and nothing more - hell, I even made a joke about Lost Planet showing up on the PS3 next.
Read it? …lets move on then
The website I’m talking about here is ‘Sony Defense Force‘. The article which was sending visitors to us (we were cited as a source) was titled “Capcom Jumps Ship - Xbox 360 Loses More Exclusives”. The first line of said article left me dumbfounded… “Capcom will unveil both Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2 for PS3 at the Tokyo Game Show 2007..”

My joke about Lost Planet appearing on PS3 seems to have mysteriously turned into fact, and not just that - they appeared to confirm Lost Planet 2. SDF also claimed that Capcom were going to up the frame rate to 60fps and upgrade the resolutions to 1080p.
Although we were cited as a source, the story they posted bore absolutely no resemblance to what we posted in the first place. What started as a rumour about Dead Rising 2 had magically turned into a headline grabbing article about Capcom moving it’s main 360 IP’s to PS3.

I decided to dig a little more….
Once on SDF, I thought I’d have a look at some of the other articles they had posted. I really wanted to have a look at some of their sources so see if other stories has been rewritten in a pro-Sony method, and to what extent the spin went to.
What struck me was the distinct lack of any Sony related new articles - strange for a Sony based website you would think. It was only then that I noticed that most of their articles had ‘Xbox 360′ in their headings - in a bad way of course.
Here are some fine examples
  • 1) Ninja Gaiden 2 announced : Met will collective yawns from gamers
2.jpg

Only because it wasn’t announced for PS3 I’d wager.
  • 2) Xbox 360 looses more exclusives - Namco 3 coming to PS3
3.jpg

Actually, they aren’t (Ace Combat 6, Eternal Sonata, Katamari)
  • 3) Bioshock Reviewed - 5/10
4.jpg

5/10 for Bioshock? I wonder which version they reviewed…
  • 4) $399 PS3 coming this Xmas - Xbox 360 official dead and buried in America
5.jpg

360 ‘officially’ dead in the US? That’s the 360’s strongest market..
  • 5) Sony Defense Force ‘Lair’ Review - 10/10
6.jpg

So, 5 for Bioshock and 10 for Lair…then compared to Mario 64?
I think those are enough examples to get the point across. If you are looking for a laugh and perhaps a way to waste 10 minutes of your lunch break, I really suggest you have a look at the site and see how many mistakes you can spot.

Is it really Sony again?
For their sakes, I really hope not. Once I’d read their take on the Dead Rising 2 post I just had to register to leave a comment (look for ‘Bleem’ in the comments section) which was a pain in the ***. You see, in order to post a comment you need to register with the site so you can log in. When you register, you are taken to a rather amateurish Word Press backend to complete the process. The fact that this part of the site is so badly done is probably the only thing which makes me think ‘Sony can’t be that daft surely?’.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

:(

This was funny, in a sad sort of way, with the alliwantforxmasisapsp.com. Now it is just sad. The PS3 aint a bad next-gen console at all, but Sony keeps dragging it, and themselves, through the dirt.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

Sadly, this does not surprise me in the least... oh Sony... nothing should ever go up the bum... especially not your own head... :(

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

 The Sony Defence Force strikes again, that site is an utter joke and a mockery of everything, if i were Sony and it wasnt them that made it id make them shut that joke of a site down for dragging their already soiled name down.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

Now, i'm a family manand I hardly ever dis someone out...but...

Sony needs to grow some balls, nough said.

Its like a everyday annoying salesman, no one might like the stuff he's selling but the products are falsely informed and they just keep coming anyway!

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

Man, though this isn't the most dumbest thing a Sony Fanboy has done (I chop that award up to the Capcom boycott Petition, which is still going on to this very day). It really is sad.. :(

The fanboys try to find every little dent in the 360's success, to exaggerate and exploit it, and of course start rumors. Why must they always be the crazy ones... :noexpression:

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

/me clubs Sony over the head with a large pointy rusty object

I had hoped to never post those words again. But, the way Sony's going, I should probably hotkey it.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

*rolls up a newspaper and hits the website with it*

No, no. Bad Sony. Bad fanboys. Bad.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

Nice article, Todd! +rep for posting this. =]

And the Sony Defence Force blog is hilarious - the comments make really make me laugh, especially on their 5/10 Xbox 360 BioShock review. The only people who seem to visit SDF are Xbox 360 fans lookin' for something funny to read.

Yeah and the only reviews they post are either 10/10 PS3 reviews or 5/10 Xbox 360 reviews. They have more negative news and flat out false rumours about 360 than they do positive of PS3. Its either Xbox 360 fans looking for a laugh or PS3 fans spreading hate for Microsoft and Xbox 360 on there. Really is one big running joke  Sony Defense Force is more like Sad Desperate Fools :getlost:

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

It surely has to be a satirical site. It just can't be serious. It can't...

:ninja: You'd be surprise at how far serious a Sony Fanboy will go...

*points to Capcom Boycott Petition*....and it's still growing strong to this day.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

The only person that would give Lair a 10/10 is a person who thinks good graphics makes up for poor gameplay. Anyway, nice find man-some funny stuff.

Same people who gave Heavenly Sword a 10/10 i imagine, looks pretty but according to reviews it can be completed in an afternoon. Which is exactly what i said about it a while ago, a company that spends so much time doing GFX for individual characters hair cant have a large game on their hands to be worrying about details like that.

This is why I dont judge games by graphics. There are alot of good games that people wont even touch just because of graphics. I consider nice graphics a bonus to a game-but not a requirement. Well...I guess I do expect a certain level of graphics depending on the system, but I think you get what Im trying to say.

Re: Sony behind new Xbox 360 Website?

I don't really see the problem, but I must either be an idiot or slow, and tired. Sony's not allowed to put their own reviews of games and news on their website? Just because the whole world thinks a game is good doesn't mean their reviewers need to think so. As for the (360 exclusive) Becoming magically available on the ps3 doesn't seem like anything either. Peoples news can be wrong. If I remember correctly from a little time ago, there was a news article about Starcraft Becoming an MMO. Well there's NO mmo on the way, but there is a starcraft II. Perhaps peoples news got mixed up. Or perhaps I'm just blind. I read the whole article in the spoiler, maybe I need to read it again or the actual whole thing to understand. But right now, I don't see anything

Its the way its reported thats the problem and the fact they said Bioshock was only given a 5 because it was on Xbox 360 if it was on PS3 then that would magically make it a 10/10 game and thats a fanboy attitude. Also the fact all the news about 360 is biased attacks on it and 90% of the articles arent true so not a matter of being wrong its a matter of them misinforming people to try to make 360 look bad, again a fanboy attitude.

This is a good example:

Sony Defense Force - I just ****ed on my 360

Look at every single article underneath, and dont forget this is meant to be a PS3 site.

Soo then I'll have to read it another 10 times to understand because my brain is slow. ;)
