Sound Buggered

I just woke up to a computer whos sound was not entirely broken, just realy really quite. I turn the speaker volume up all the way and i can barely hear music I play. I have swapped the speakers to other things (headphones and my guitar amp) and it's still really quiet. All the volume computer side is up, I've tried going into the control panel and playing with the Sound and Audio Devices options, but anything that looks like it could help just leads me back to the volume control which is already up. Any help woud be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Sound Buggered

Tried seeing if its possible to roll back your sound card drivers or updating them?

Re: Sound Buggered

I've updated to the latest ones just then. I might try rolling back a couple of versions though.

Let me know if you get any difference by doing it at all.

Re: Sound Buggered

I tried rolling back to an earlier version, but it didn't help. Then I went back to the latest and still no improvement. :(

What Sound Card are you using? I will look into some troubleshooting for you when i get home from work and see if i can find a solution.

Re: Sound Buggered

DX Diagnostic says Realtek HD Audio.

Re: Sound Buggered

Ok, I've installed a new (old, but it beats the onboard stuff) soundcard that we had lying around, and the sound is working. This thread can be closed :)
