Splinter Cell Conviction

When I first heard of Conviction, I knew I was going to be dissappointed.
If you haven't realised yet I am renowned on this website for my love for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (to be honest I haven't played the previous games before that.)

But I definitely wasn't as obsessed with Double Agent. It was hardly anything to do with Splinter Cell, taking away the good things of Chaos Theory.
And this is what made me wary of Conviction.

I mean, seriously, free-roam???
But I recently watched the trailer, and, well, you'd have to be deaf and blind not to be impressed by that.
So I was just wondering about your opinions on Conviction. A game sent from the heavens themselves? Or another pathetic hype?

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction

Free roam is great. It's what a lot of companies are getting into and many of them very successful. It'll make Splinter Cell a lot better, in my opinion.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction

I suck at Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (I can't get the hang of this stealth business and Steve gets cross when I go running about getting lost of unwanted attention ) and Double Agent annoyed me but I have been having a little look at this game and I do like the look of it so there's a strong chance we'll pick up a copy when it comes out.

High five. I forget I'm playing Splinter Cell and just jump out and start shooting.. Everywhere.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction

Yup, that's me. Steve's doing all the whistling, tapping quietly, shimmying across pipes nonsense and I'm charging around like a lunatic, shooting anything that looks even remotely alive

It's what makes it fun.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction

Hmmm, Maybe I am one of very few who use stealth.
Yay. That makes me feel special :P

Rep for the phantom
