SPORE

For those of you have never heard of it, Spore is a game where you start as a bacteria, and move up the evolutionary chain until you arrive at galactic travel and domination. However, you can almost infinitely customize you creatures, so each player's creature can look different each time they go through the game. You can move the skeleton of the creature any way you desire, and it will walk as if the skeleton was real (that is a really bad sentence to try to say what I mean, but just watch the videos).

Also, other player's creatures are brought in to colonize both your starting world and other worlds that you travel too.

This game, if done right, will have me addicted for at least 6 months. The videos look absolutely amazing, and the replay value will be immense.

Hah, I took a chance on maybe there wasn't a thread, meh no worries, it's so good it deserves a few.

im SO getting that game....but all ive seen is mating and editing anything ele?

Spore's actually one of the few PC games I've seen coming up that makes me think it's time to upgrade to a better computer. Don't get me wrong, there's other good games out there, but I've always had a thing for games where I get to play "God," if you will.

Six months...man, if this game is done right (as I'm sure it will be), you'd have to tear me away from a computer!!! :D

This game looks awesome
Here’s a clip that has Robin Williams playing it at the end. He also mentions Black and White I wonder if he's played Fable. Being an avid gamer I bet he has.

so like that galaxy theres going to be made up with our planets and we can build alliances with other planets or enemies?

Ahh, man that game looks awesome...

but still no one answered my question... Is our planets going to make up the galaxy and we'll be able to go to other peoples planets and become enemies or alliances?

There will be loads of planets you can visit etc and make freinds or enemies with and even destroy their planets :devil:

I wonder if you'll be able to tell whose planet is whose.
I really like the idea of a massively single player online game

From what Ive seen it looks very organised so id imagine so and yeah its a great idea.

From the video I posted your homeworld will be Added to the online database of worlds and everyone will be able to access those worlds for their game only. So You could go destroy a world in your game but you can't touch it in someone elses game. It sort of like a collaborative game design but each person gets there own copy of the game.

I kinda get it... so like you go to there planet ok.. can they see you there?

No I think there is only one "Flying Saucer" in the game and it's yours I could be wrong Interplanetary war would be awesome I wonder how/if it would end. I haven't played any sim games in over a dozen years When Sim City was out lol

Nah...the main reason it's Massively Single-Player is because otherwise you'd have a ton of people who decided they had nothing better to do than go destroy everybody else's planets and ruin the multi-player aspect for everybody else. I mean, think of it this way, would you like it if you had spent days or weeks designing a new planet just to see it blown up by some other player the same day you put it onto a server?

yeah i have been waiting for this game since eh.... 2004 ive seen every video website and interview so i cant really learn anymore about it :(
