Square-Enix already thinking about Final Fantasy 15

Final Fantasy XIII is almost out the door in the West, Final Fantasy XIV is lined up for sometime later this year, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Agito XIII are to come some time after. You’d think Square Enix would relax with the Final Fantasy until everything announced is in consumers hands.

You’d be wrong.

“We’ve got a few ideas for Final Fantasy XV lined up,” Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase told Xbox 360 World Magazine, “but there is no singular aim for where we want the series to go. Final Fantasy can go in all directions, each one is very different from the last. The one thing we set out to do is to make sure we tell a story that hasn’t been told before.”

Think they should slow down the releases again and leave a nice gap (maybe not as large as the one between XII and XIII) but long enough to properly work on the game. As FFXIV is lined up for later in the year that means they will have released 3 Final Fantasy games on consoles this year. If they continue at that rate then then will quickly run out of ideas (not storywise but gameplay wise) and creating 3 average games isnt the same as creating one really good one. Quality over quantity should always be the idea.
