Square Enix Denys FFVII Remake Rumours

Final Fantasy fans all over the world have been hoping there would be a remake of Square Enix's most popular series instalment Final Fantasy VII but they have never been any more than rumours. The rumours restarted when the first shots of the movie Advent Children surfaced but nothing more came of it, but people secretly hoped Square Enix were working on such a title.

With the Ten Year anniversary of Final Fantasy VII approaching it would seem the perfect time to unveil such a remake but Final Fantasy character designer Tetsuya Nomura has flat out denied claims that they are working on such a title. When asked if there was a remake in the works he said this:

Tetsuya Nomura said:
My apologies, but we're absolutely not making such a game.

However when the staff currently making FFXIII were asked why they joined the company the majority answer was as follows:

Staff said:
I'm an FFVII fan, I also want to do a remake.

Nomura's closing comment was an optimistic one however:

Tetsuya Nomura said:
We of course know ourselves what the fans want so we'd like to continue thinking up a variety of things. As long as there are people who want to make it and people who are waiting for it, we don't want to proclaim 'the end.'

ahh, I was looking forward to this, I was hoping they'd remake the game, not continue the story. If they remade the game graphice, made text into sound, there would be a lot more buyers

They know a remake would sell amazingly well but also know the risks that come from remaking their most popular title to date and if they mess it up and it doesnt match up to the original heads would roll.

Probably the same reason they haven't remade Crono Trigger. Of course, there are always rumors...

I am talking keep the same content, edit the graphics, keep the same lines, but only with voice

People would complain about the price tag then saying its the same game with better GFX and doesnt deserve a next gen price tag for better GFX as they had played the same game before. Graphics arent everything in a lot of peoples minds and some people want parts of the game expanded on also.

True true, but the final fantasy VII Advent children was a good after story, and I do suppose dirge of cerberis, would be classified as somwhat of a sequel even though it is only about one character.

Meh, I just want a copy of the new FFVII for PSP, where you play as Zack!

Re: Square Enix Denys FFVII Remake Rumours

ohhhhhhhhh, I'd rather play as cloud though

Re: Square Enix Denys FFVII Remake Rumours

Zack is epicly cooler than Cloud.

Re: Square Enix Denys FFVII Remake Rumours

I like the original character set ups of games

Re: Square Enix Denys FFVII Remake Rumours

Cloud is pretty much a blonde Zack, except Zack is friendlier.
