Square Enix details new Xbox 360 RPG

Square is making an RPG for the Xbox 360
Infinite Undiscovery is the newest fantasy RPG from tri-Ace.

Developed by tri-Ace, the team responsible for Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile, Infinite Undiscovery is an all-new RPG developed for the Xbox 360.

No story elements have been announced, instead Square Enix is focusing on the some of the gameplay elements to feature in the game. One such feature is situational battles, which will see players confronted with a variety of dramatic battle scenarios such as executing an escape while a giant ogre follows in hot pursuit, or battling amidst tidal waves. The environments will change and respond in real-time to player commands, thus creating a new experience in the RPG genre.

Square has also noted that the in-game battles are all carried out in real-time, with the seamless game world allowing for combat, exploration and all other actions to take place in the same environments.

No release date has been announced.
It says Developed for the 360 but not exclusive to the 360.
I wonder what the Infinite part is about

Been talks of FFXIII coming to 360 a couple of times but nothing serious really but rumours and i doubt it would happen straight away as its a huge flagship title for PS3. Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi already has a good relationship with Microsoft after the sales of Blue Dragon in Japan and with Lost Odyssey on the way and now with Square Enix joining up too, anything is possible i guess.

Darn it. I am not that into RPGs that don't let you create your own character and by the looks of it this one won't.

Oh glorious Mass Effect!

Square is also developing another RPG for the Xbox 360, forgot the name of it, but it was announced awhile back before this one.

Seeing as how i'm a SE fanboy aswell, I'm pretty sure the other game is called The Last Remnant, a game that ALSO looks fantastic.

Same, Square Enix shines a light on the dim world of turn-based RPG's. TLR looks really intense and has a bit of KOTOR in it...when it comes to turn-based intensity.

I mean, HUGE scale battles in that game. But, I hear it works, unlike the Dynasty Warrior series.

If you love Square, then you should try getting your hands on Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360. As both games are from the original creator of Final Fantasy 1 to 10, and one of the founders of Squaresoft: Hironobu Sakaguchi, he made his own developing company called Mistwalker that develops traditional RPG's for xbox only. ^_^

So far, Blue Dragon is reminiscent of Dragon Quest (awesome game), and Lost Odyssey being just like the old Final Fantasies, only better...but that one won't be out until Feb 2008 for US & UK... :'(
