STDs: What do they do?

It says I've got like 14 STDs and I don't see any difference in my character's appearance, stats, or social behaviors. No one reacts to me differently either. What's the point?

they dont affect your player in any way, its just somthing to look at/ brag about and luagh at
personally STDs make my hero a walking weapon of mass destruction, infecting all of albion with 16 STDs at once

They tell other players online that you slept with random hookers =), Lol really they don't do anything.
