Stealing

Is stealing really worth it?

I've started a newer character and tried stealing numerous times only to be discouraged because it really does not seem to bring much money in. I steal from registers in Bowerstone and normal houses in Bowerstone/Oakfield etc, and well...i earn practically nothing. Expecially considering those buggering guards won't gtfo for a couple minutes.

I've heard stealing is the most profitable way in the game, maybe im doing something wrong? Or should i just stick with serving beers for a living...:'(

Bounty hunts and assasins may be more profitable.

Would that be more profitable than constant beer pouring streaks?:D

Bartending is THE way to make money, but if you want to be evil and have fun and not actually work for your money then stealing can be very effective. It's easiest to steal from houses you own and are renting out because you will be able to open the door instead of having to knock it down (why did they get rid of guile!?!) If you don't want to own the homes and don't care about the state of the houses... break down a bunch of doors, do community service for it and come back. The doors will never ever be repaired. Try to steal during the day or in the evening when everyone is at the Pub- don't try to steal when they're home.

Mosey on in and see if anyone's home. If there's not a balcony then you should start upstairs and work your way down. Once you have stolen something from a building do not go back in there until you have left town once. If they see you near something missing (even if you've slept!) they'll report you to the guards. Also, remember that the higher the economy and the nicer the home (ie if you upgrade) the better booty you can find. If someone sees you and you're not isolated enough for a quick headshot to shut them up then simply fast travel away. The guards should never know.

Once you have a nice selection of stuff, take it to the Fairfax Gardens traders as they pay the most. Now, stealing is not the most profitable way to make money, but it's more interesting and fun in my opinion. I have a character who never worked a day in his life, made all his money from rent off buildings he financed via theft. Good luck.

I wouldn't recommend stealing unless you know there's an item you want there. But I'd doubt anyone would steal, just to get that puny little item.
Indeed, the best way to make profit/gain money, is to do some jobs, whether it's Bounty Hunting or Assassination.

Well, Bartending is one of the best earning jobs in Fable 2 yes, but I've found myself, strangely enough, to be earning money a lot quicker by doing the level 5 Blacksmith job.

Re: Stealing

If you want to be evil, Just buy properties and rent them out and increase prices to 100% interest. You can do the glitch where you disconnect from xboxlive, set your system clock ahead as far as possible, and then when you play you will get paid for all the 5 minute intervals that the game thinks have passed, and when you reconnect your clock will go back to normal and you will keep all your money.

I owned just about every building in the game, didn't touch it for two weeks, came back and had like two million gold, so a few years should get you wealthy enough for the rest of your playing.
