Crocodile Hunter, Dies...

Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, has actually died while filming an underwater documentary in Australia.
He was hit in the chest by a stingray!

We all scretly wished for something like this to happen to those annoying documentary makers.
But I never thought the Crocodile Hunter would actually DIE!

Of course... thoughts to the family. (he had two little kids and a wife so start crying!!)

dude that suxs (even tho we all saw it comeing). but that weird the the wild boyz arnt dead before steve irwin. but yea that does suck tho

I could swear I made my thread first but... nevermind I suppose...

My friends and I actually held a minutes silence at lunch today... poor guy. Hard to belive hes dead. And I was just watching the show yesterday.

I heard about this on the radio and am still in disbelief. Never thought it would be a stingray that finally killed him though. I had loads of respect for the stuff he did in his zoo and with the conservation of animals. Shame he had to die so young and so early into his plans for his park. Thoughts are with his wife and kids :(

I can't believe it...the croc hunter died.... I fell bad for Steve's family, though. I hope someone finds and kills that damn stingray.

Yeah, Its all over the news where I am. I was a fan of his work and what he did. The stingray attack was a total freak accident; I thought he would have been killed by a croc or snake, but WOW a stingray took him out, man I really feel bad for his family.

Yeah I heard he died.......used to watch his show alot.....shame that a pussy ass sting ray killed the guy who wrestled giant reptelians...

I know, thats just odd as they say records revealed only an average of 1 person per year dies from being attacked by a Stingray as they rarely strike anyone! So accident it may have been but unlucky is more like it!

Mine was 2 hours before yours but then again, you are on the eastern seaboard. Better to merge them than have two threads about the same guy.

Think about how that would suck. Poisonious barb right to the heart, instantly circulating it throughout your body. Lets hope it was quick and relativley painless.

At least he died doing something he loved, not in a car crash or something like that.

First of all, let me say, controversy aside, Steve deserves our respect for his work regarding conservation and education.

From the reports I heard, it wasn't the poison of the stingray that did Irwin in, but rather the actual puncture wound to his heart. Additionally, depending on who you ask, he was only the second or third person in modern times killed by a stingray.

A true pity Irwin died so young. The world needs more people like him to help ensure its health.

When I first heard it my first thought was: "Gosh, wouldn't it be funny if he died choking on a pretzel?"

I mean, he stares danger in the face all day with what he did for a living. Him NOT getting killed by a croc or other dangerous animal would be rather....wierd.

im sure the poisen could of killed him after a while but i heard he tried to pull the barb out himself while he was under water and that probably added to the dammage to his heart

poor crazy bastard R.I.P.

Actually no, that poison aint deadly to a human. He was just unlucky that it almost pierced his heart. Would it have hit him in, let's say, his arm or leg, he would still walk this earth and wrestling crocs.
