Stuck in "the game" quest

As the subject implies, I'm stuck in "the game" quest. I can't get through that damn door into the tower. I keep reading the best way to get around this glitch is to join a co-op game and then leave. Anyone want to help me out with this? I'm very new to this whole online gaming thing, but I love Fable and I would like very much to not have to play my whole game over with because of some stupid programming glitch. GT milkshaken17

i used up all my "summon whatever" potions, and was able to open door.
i was also naked and with the original gun i started the game with, but it didn't open till i used up my potions or spells
also...
i used my fire/shock spell with my hands, centered around me not directing at anything. i did this a few times. it's possible i killed a wolf i couldn't see
