Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

Hello, everyone out there! My name is Patrick. :)
Well, my problem is actually that i'm trying to get all the legendary weapons in Fable 2. But it's a kind of impossible.

Well, the problem is that i donated to Temple of Light and got The Rising Sun.
Is it somehow possible to get to Temple of Shadows? I mean get the quest?

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

There is a quest called "The Temple of Shadows" yes, but I'm not quite sure if you could do it after you've helped the Temple of Light. Getting the two weapons would be interesting, but I don't think that's possible either.

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

It's not possible, apart from trading. I'd be willing to help you trade them from save to save, though, if you play the game again. You give me your Rising Sun, sign in on the profile with The Maelstrom, I give you the Rising Sun back...Etc.

Hello my name is sponge bob...

Ok sorry I could not resist doing this. I think you can still get both swords- go to the temple of shaddos after it is destroyedthere will be a spiral staircase leading down and a gargoyl to the right hand side. go down the stair case and sacrifice after killing some enemies.

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

you cant cuz once you destroy the temple of shadows theres a banshee and shadow-monsters down there thatll kill ur followers, + the guy isnt there that tells you WHEN to sarcifice at midnight

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

Hi all!

I thought I'd chime in with what I found while playing the game. It IS possible to get both the Rising Sun and the Malestrom, but you must do it BEFORE you choose to complete the Defending the Light/Slaughter Oakfield (or whatever they're called-I forget) quests. You can avoid them by not speaking to the leaders of the temples. Only speak to the man next to the donation bowl in the Temple of Light, and the man next to the Wheel in the Temple of Shadows.

*edit* You can do both temple quests as soon as you finish escorting Hammer through the wellspring.

This is correct. I have gotten both on every play through. I suggest doing the temple of shadows first to get it out of the way. A couple hints to be efficient.

1. Find a random person in Oakfield, take them to the Demon door there and ask them to marry you. Now you have unlocked the demon door, gained access to a nice house, gained access to a legendary hammer, and have a wife ready to sacrifice later.

2. Go to the temple of light and sometimes around the Sandgoose, round up as many monks as you can get to follow you. If you have been particularly evil and have been slaughtering the town, this might not work for you =). At this point in the game, you can usually get about 4 people to follow you. Take the monks to the temple of shadows and sacrifice them. They are worth more points than normal villagers.

3. Once you have accumalated 2000 points, go get your wife and sacrifice her to the temple between 12 am and 1 am. You now have the Maelstrom. ( there is a cot in the temple of shadows to sleep on to pass time)

4. Go to the Temple of Light, donate 500 gold. The guy will tell you, you have the earned the right of the harvest benefactor. Come back between 12 pm and 1 pm and donate 10,000 gold and get the S.unbringer.

You can do either one first, this is just how I do it.

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

Nice. +Rep.

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

Also there is a glitch that allows you to get The Rising Sun again after you complete the game. Simply go to the Temple of Light if it still stands, donate 500 gold, and then 10k gold between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., and you will receive a second Rising Sun. I currently have 2 Rising Suns and a Maelstrom, as well as 3 Garth dolls and 2 Reaver dolls, none of which were traded.

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

they made a bad mistake puting both in there, when one gets destroyed!

Either of them can get destroyed, it depends on your choice. Both weapons can still be obtained without trading for them, so it is not a mistake. What the mistake is is choosing not to help the temple of light, as you not only miss out on gaining youth by donating, you also disallow a number of buyable and rentable buildings to be constructed, and thus a goodly amount of cash.

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

it was stupid though

Re: Temple of Light & Temple of Shadows

Well, I've searched various forums, and haven't found a satsifactory answer yet, so what the heck, might as well post myself. I know that saving the Temple of Light will save the buildings and give you the chance to restore your appearance later in the game, but will saving the Temple of Shadows offer an equal reward, or is it just the one-time benefit of the evil points, reknown, etc? Since the two are pretty balanced in other aspects, I find it hard to believe that the benefits of saving one would so drastically outweigh the other. I personally have no preference, I've been pretty evenly split between the nice and nasty bits so far, and the only thing holding me back is what the potential rewards might be.
