So whats with this temple of light that you cant donate to? is it only there for a short amount of time or something before its ruined?

I think you have to do the quest first, that's connected to it, after you have some renown, he'll tell you what to do. Don't walk away when you are listening to him, or it'll stop. There's a little glitch connected to it. Lionhead is working on it.

Those of you who no longer have access to the Temple either assisted the Temple of Shadows before going to

the Spire

Or else didn't help either side - if you don't choose to clear away the shadow worshippers then the Temple will automatically be gone on upon your return.
