remember this fantastic movie from 2 years ago? no? well educate yourself.

why? because that was this guys first movie he ever directed, and his second is the spider-man reboot.

Trailer

the cast looks promising. my only gripe is that the special effects look more than a little sub-par. but i feel like he's giving it a darker twist, which i always enjoy seeing happen to a superhero. furthermore, i really liked that actor in the social network last year, even if he isn't acting any differently as peter parker.

Heh, for a second I thought I had been duped into watching a trailer for another movie.

It doesn't look too bad, but the CGI as you said doesn't look very convincing.. it looked like a Mirror's Edge sequel but with Spiderman being playable. I'll keep my eye on this though, it could very well blow me away as I too enjoy a superhero film that ventures into the dark side.

Spider-Man is always pretty cool. I'm not really into superheroes as much as other things, but Spider-man is my favorite. Like most movies these days, I'll see this once it's out on DVD. I just have one question though. Did they decide to make this instead of a Spider-Man 4 just because Toby didn't want to do another one?

Funny thing is, I actually used to watch this when it aired on television. Thanks for making me feel old. Hahaha.

I liked the previous movies but is there really any need for a reboot? I mean it looks good and all that but doesnt seem 5 mins since the last ones were out.

I didn't like the last three movies, only because it steered from the storyline DRASTICALLY. Now, don't get me wrong, if I never read the comics and have only watched the movies, they would have been great movies. I just guess I've been such a nerd for so long, and that I'm an avid comic book collector, it makes me very judgmental towards comic book movies.

I do agree with you, though. They're doing this a little too soon. They should have waited a few years before revamping the Spider-Man movies; However, what I think they're doing, is following Comic Book traditions with the Comic Book names, such-as: The Spectacular Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2011, etc, etc.

Most were the same characters, with around the same story line. I'm sure they're just doing this because of copyrights, but I'm sure Marvel will probably explain the name change as this, anyway.

Looks good. I'm hoping the introduction is kept as short as possible and not overly dramatic - we all know what happened at that point. Not much was shown in regards to the story so can't say anything else aside from that I liked the atmosphere. A proper reboot would have been tons better without known actors too.
I actually liked the previous movies. Especially the symbiote thing in Spiderman 3.

All in all - from first glance, the reboot doesn't seem very special. As others mentioned, if you're going to do a reboot after such a short time, you have to do something extraordinary, otherwise it's simply a sequel.

PS! Liked the first person scene.

PS2! Have you seen Green Lantern Trailer 3? Kick ass trailer, but I've heard its a bad, bad movie.
