Rockstar Announces GTA IV's 2nd Piece of DLC

Written Tuesday, May 26, 2009 by Dan Webb

Rockstar today announced that their second piece of downloadable content for the smash hit Grand Theft Auto IV, The Ballad of Gay Tony, will be available this fall for 1,600 Microsoft Points.

"Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we've created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode's focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities."

"Grand Theft Auto IV's second downloadable episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price."

For those who have long since sold GTA IV and want to pick up both episodes, Rockstar also announced plans to release Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City that will deliver both episodes on disc for the first time. This disc will set you back $39.99 and ultimately means you won't need the original GTA IV to play the episodes.

The Ballad of Gay Tony will release this fall on Xbox 360 for 1,600 Microsoft Points.

A very nice name, I don't get the GTA IV DLC cause I don't play the game often enough for the purchase to be worth anything, but it looks very cool. I mean, it's called the Ballad of Gay Tony.

19 out of what? That doesn't make sense.

Re: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Nice to see Rockstar are keeping their promise of more DLC for GTA IV. I heard 'The Lost and The Damned' was a very good piece of DLC, i would have purchased it if i had the Microsoft Points at the time but i spent my last points on 'Broken Steel' for Fallout 3. +Rep for posting.

Re: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

I'd rather continue what I'm doing until an admin requests that I stop for whatever reason. Andy seems to like the idea.
The content helps keep us very popular on google and i quite enjoy reading all the games news. Thats why i also post quite a few gaming threads. Good to keep our fellow gamers updated with lots of new news.
All I'm doing is reporting interesting and exciting news and for whatever reason, there seems to be a lot lately.

Re: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Okay well ill bugger off for a while.. bye

Re: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

I'm not trying to take 'your turf' away from you or anything. News is news whether it comes from you or me. Feel free to post stuff, I don't mind.

Re: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

lol dnt worry no im not leavin the forum i think ill hang round other sections for now. i'll plan my drivebyes later guess i over reacted just hectic times

Re: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Hmm, I was hoping maybe something to do with...

The Psychotic Mass Murderer Secret Encounter you do with that Slasher, Eddie Low, that would of been pretty neat. Like a whole story and quests based around him since he was so kick ass.

But, I guess this might be good too. Although I never did get a chance to play The Lost and The Damned concidering my Disc got a nice fine crack in it from being overused.
