The child rescue quest

Slightly confuzzled - my kid was taken into care because I sacrificed my beloved rent boy (named Dumbass) and then about three minutes later I got a pop up message saying my daughter needed rescuing from a cave - but there's no trail, no help - nothing. And surely it isn't my problem now but Social Services seeing as they took her off me??

I've read that everyone else went to Hobbe Cave for their rescue quest - should I just do the same and hope it's the right place? And if I do the quest (provided I don't get the same bugs as most others have had), will the Social take her off me again?

on my female char, i had no breadcrumb trail leading to my husband and couldn't find him anywhere, so i went to the hobbe cave, nothing there. i went back home, the breadcrumbs finally took me to him, but once i found him, i wasn't able to interact with him about the rescue. i got frustrated and shot him, then my daughter was taken into care

It's just weird - I have no spouse, so why is this quest coming up if my kid has been taken off me?

Went to Hobbe Cave just to see what would happen and there was nobody there (apart from lots of angry hobbes)...weird...

The rescue quest!! in castle fairfax!!

right here is what you do it took me
a long time to figure this out but
i finaly know what to do in 5 easy steps:

FIRST:do not do that quest were you sleep in castle fairfax.

SECOND:if you do not do that quest then you will still have your butler(the man nere your castle door).

THIRD:then walk to the butler and he will tell you were your wife (or husband)when he tells you (listen carefully)go to where he said.

FOURTH:when you find your wife
(or husband)they will tell you where your son (or daughter)is.

FIFTH:go to where he(or she) said.

Im having pretty much the same problem. Except im living in the homestead house with my family, (the house behind the oakfield demon door) and The Rescue quest became available, so I went to my house to talk to my wife, (to get the note from her) AND SHE IS GONE?!?!??! I checked all around my house, and in oakfield, and she is gone.... and when i go to do another quest it says "you have a family emergency, check your map!"
-Any info on this glitch/bug?
