The Connection.

I am curious about how Fable 2 could be tied to Fable 1. Any Ideas? I know P.M said somewhere that there wouldn't be any connections... at least not yet, but lets pretend he didn't. How would you tie the game to Fable 1? For me I would probly make the main hero go somewhere like in the woods and see the guild seal the hero from the last game had. Maybe even steal it from a museum. Then he would be drawn by the seal to explore some more of the woods and follow a river until he found the Heroe's Guild. That would reactivate the guild seal and wake up the baddie. Maybe then he might stumble on the creepy girl in the trailer and get info on the past 500 years and say that you are part of the heroes bloodline. You know, something like that and then continue from there. (I know it sounds stupid but im not really a game disigner or anything. Give me credit it even made since!) Anyways. Do you have an idea?

Re: The Connection.

I hate to sound mean but could we let the idea of ties from fable one die already? i'm actually happy that he's not including old content, it makes for a better game.

Re: The Connection.

I think that ties would be interesting. They could make it ike The Elder Scrolls series. Another life in another place (or whatever they say) but still have the history from the old games.

Re: The Connection.

Still theres been too much posting about this concept which will never be introduced to the game

Re: The Connection.

if your tired of the concept, then don't open the thread. simple as that.
i think the new hero should grow up aspiring to become like the legend of your hero in the previous game, that would be a good plot motivator.

Re: The Connection.

Even then it might just make references to things that people never knew about because the original fable didnt get near as much press as this one is getting

Re: The Connection.

Either way, speculation and wishful thinking is fun:)

Re: The Connection.

I'd enjoy finding an old NPC's or even the Hero's skeleton somewhere.:)

Re: The Connection.

Or even something quirky and unexplained, like a giant wasp head on the wall of someones bowerstone house:ninja:

Maybe not advert wise, however it was MUCH more hyped than Fable 2 and much more ambitious (too ambitious actually) also VERY anticipated by the games media. Only thing about Fable 2 is they are giving more actual details and development blogs about it to keep people updated that are gaining it more interest and trust that it will deliver on promises whereas the original relied heavily on hype and 'Ideas' that they never included which disappointed people.

Re: The Connection.

I'm pretty darn sure there will be certain homages to the old original. It is not a continuation of the story, that is true, so you won't find that the old NPCs play a major role in the new Fable.

However, things like books, rare weapons and other things which refer back to the original - I have no doubt we'll find a couple of those.

I agree, i also think there will be things in there that will either be linked to the first in some way or be there as a mark of respect for the original.

Re: The Connection.

i have been thinking about it for quite a while now about it

Well, it sounds good, but if you think about it, what would the legend be like? Since there's the good/evil ending thing and all the choices in between, it's kind of hard to make a set-in-stone past for the game. Like when they make the next Elder Scrolls game- there wasn't a good/evil ending to the game, really. It just kind of unfolded. I think this might be why PM's holding back. Somewhere along the lines he probably thought of this and knew there'd be a little bit of inconsistency between games. Just my ranting, but that's what I've eventually come up with.

Re: The Connection.

They could do what they did with TES Daggerfall. It had so many alternate endings that in the next games they decided that a warp in time happened and that all seven endings happened at once.

Re: The Connection.

so do i but i think speculating on features that have been counted out by lionhead isn't that relevant to the forum section

Re: The Connection.

all i know is that there should be atlleast 1 or 2 connections to fable oh i just remembered p.m saying that there will be twists well a number of twists

Re: The Connection.

Outside of geographic connections i hope the games remain pretty seperate.
