The dog...

I tried searching for information about the dog, but I can't find much.
I have a question about the health of the dog, which I have thought of three answers...

The question: Will the dog be able to die?

My answers:
1. The dog will be able to die
(This would be a problem for some players, the dog would become more of a liability. Players would focus more on keeping the dog alive than on enemies attacking.)

2. The dog can not die
(Since it can not die, the game becomes too easy because invinci-mutt bites all of the enemies a new you-know-what while you stand back and watch)

3. The can can get injured, but can not die (or fight while injured).
(Probably the best solution)

Is there any other options? I would appreciate it if someone would let me know...

Re: The dog...

That confused me
I don't think it said whether the dog can die or not.

Peter Molyneux did say at 'some point' the dog will indeed die.

Re: The dog...

maybe the dog can handle more the tougher and stronger you get.

Re: The dog...

Maybe the dog can be able to find stuff for your quests.

Re: The dog...

Sooo, my first answer was right... :(
On the bright side, Fable could use a little more difficulty...

Re: The dog...

The dog CAN'T die until theend of the game. Other than that it will only get injures

Re: The dog...

But you won't want to just sit and watch the dog do all the work cause he'll get hurt... And wants to watch an animal get hurt? So the problem of that making the game too easy probably doesn't exist. Unless you're cruel and heartless... then you're SOL I guess........ and you make me sad:'(
Not to mention if the dog gets too hurt and is limping around not only is that horrible, but every one else will think so too according to Peter.... So you'll want to help the little guy out...

Re: The dog...

As mentioned, the dog will only die as a plot device. But that doesn't mean it is immortal and can fight everything for you. Most likely, when the Dog takes too much damage(where it hits 0 or a negative number of Health) He it will pass out, making it useless in the fight. After all enemies are dead it will wake up at 1 Health and be in need of healing.

That's what I think would make the most sense.

Re: The dog...

Perhaps if you run away and go to the pub, some dude will walk in carrying your dog making it worse.

Re: The dog...

So a little like KotOR, where the game only ends if all Three Party members reach 0 vitality. Unless you have Atton where he gets up with a small amount of vitality, or like me have the Revitalise forcepower and keep resurecting the fallen. But anyway, with all the possible chances for fights wouldn't the dog become stronger and stronger, also if you run off i am guessing the dog will follow, after all its a smart dog and knows that if its master retreats theres a point to that.

Re: The dog...

As well as the primary evil doer, Lucien kidnapping your children and your wife, what if he took your dog too? That could add a bit of a plot twist...

Re: The dog...

If he took the dog, wouldn't you practically be lost. He is the minimap after all. Then again i never used the thing first time round so i'd be fine.

*Hero enters evil doer's lair, spots his dead family and doggie. He rushes forward, kicking aside the corpses of his wife and kids, cradling the dog in his arms*

"DOOOOOOGGIIEEEEEE! NOOOOO!!!"

To be honest if the dog is a useful as it appears that could be the case since gold and rings and booze will heal the others but the dogggiieeee is ireplaceable....:'(

Re: The dog...

Thats kind of a cheap thing for them to do.. give you a fun, fuzzy, furry creature to love and cherish and then let it fall off a cliff or something.. sure, it'll definately put *emotion* into the game , but come on.. thats so mean.. :(
