The First Hobbes
A Diary of Darkness
Ch. 1
"Jhonny were are you?!" boomed a voice from downstairs. Jhonny awoke to the great voice of his mother wondering what she could possibly want. It was around 3 in the morning and he was very tired. "What do you want?" yelled Jhonny. "Theres a trader in town, he has the most gorgeous items. Quickly, get ready were going to see what hes got!". Jhonny was used to this after all his mother was a shopping addict. In 5 minutes he was ready and in 3 minutes his mother and him were there. Jhonny had been to several sales all around town, but never had he seen one like this. There were books stacked so high they seemed to stretch on forever. There were armors, swords, toys, and even food. "Jhonny heres 5 gold go buy whatever you want". "Thanks mother" . His first visit was the toys naturally, and next came the food, he eved n looked in the armor, but Jhonny didn't find anything he liked. When he finally reached the books he was tired and bored, but he didn't want to go home empty handed. He grabbed the first available book he saw, gave the vendor 5 gole, and left. When he got home he grabbed a piece of pie and got his first look at the book he bought. It was called The Children of the Jack of Blades. The cover was completely black and the letters were written in blood red. The pages of the book were covered with dust of age. As Jhonny opened the first page a sense of power. The first page seemed to draw him in. This sensation was the best thinbg he ever experienced and soon he was lost to it.
