The GIMP freezes alot...Any idea why?

I use The GIMP 2.2 for all my graphics and I've noticed that lately it's been crashing alot. Some of the plug-in's just don't want to work, and also when I try to resize and configure the dialogs, my cursor permanently changes to the little double-headed arrow, and it won't let me go past the point were the desktop meets the taskbar. I end up having to Ctrl+Alt+Del, and select "End Task". Any idea what might be causing this and how I might be able to fix it? Thanks.

Tried just uninstalling it and downloading it again and a re-install?

Also use this:

CCleaner.com

Pick alternate download, and use it to clean your system and repair any issues.

Are you using the latest version? 2.2.17 that is.

Are you using the latest version? 2.2.17 that is.

That's a good link Drakan, +rep. I had to use that along with about 12 other programs to get rid of this damn registry and malware virus I had. *Shakes fist at SmitFraud*
