The Hobbes' origins

As a student in High school, I just finished studying the age of absolutism. I came across a man in my studies named Thomas HOBBES. He was one of the people that came up with the modern concept of the social contract. Could ha have something to do with Hobbes in Fable, or is that just a coincidence?

idk maybe i watched the TLC credits and there was a person named something Hobbes so i thought it was someone at lionhead

I Knew a guy whose name was hobbes. IDTS mang.
