An amazing high end low budget film starring Heath Ledger. Heath overdosed in the middle of production so stars like Johny Depp and other greats took over to finish the film and pulled it off seemlessly.

~STORYLINE:(semispoil) is there was an ancient group of monk storytellers. If anyone of them ever stopped telling stories the world would end. They would tell stories everyday of everything that was happening as it was happening such was their conviction. The devil comes to prove to them that if they stopped the world would not end. One monk Dr. Parnassis after talking to the devil strikes a deal. He can be immortal so he can continue telling stories forever and make the world a better place aslong as when he had his first child the devil could take it to hell. Dr. Parnassis didn't know what the modern world would be like and didn't realize people would stop enjoying and have time for stories. He becomes basically a traveling gypsy doing sideshows it parking lots of stores. They find Heath's character on a bridge hung, he doesnt remember who he is and is still alive because their was a flute lodged in his throat so he could breathe. The Dr. loves gambling thinking he could win and always gambles alittle bit more time from the devil always thinking he could get something for nothing.~

It's a really cool funky whacky films, zarkes kinda stuff and was Heath's last role which is crazy to think about. I liked it alot definatley a good see if youre interested.

If youve seen it already what did you think of it did you like it as much as I did?

It was an English style film which makes even better I say. The Devil is this oldman with a top hat always smoking cigars and has a raspy voice like a 19th century business typhoon.

The whole movie has that chessboard theme :P Even though the Dr is getting all his magic emdued by the devil it is because he made a bet with him that has to do with storytelling so there is that conflict and eminent dwindling of time aspect about it. The modern world is so bleak and the Dr is losing, he is the last storyteller left so maybe the monks were right.

It's really cool and strange and I love it.
