The Northern Wastes

Who wants this area to return along with Cape Island (I think it was called.) I miss those snowy areas...

But more so to my question: Is Northern Wastes part of Albion, or classified as another continent along with Samarkland and the Aurora?

Re: The Northern Wastes

I'd like to see the Northern Wastes again. And yes, it is a part of Albion. Not sure what you mean by Cape Island, though. Could you be talking about Hook Coast?

Yep sorry Hook Coast.. Wasn't Northern Wastes though only part of a much larger island

Re: The Northern Wastes

knothole island reminded me of the northern wastes, I thought the lighthouse you couldn't get to (the one infront of you to the left, when stood outside the chieftan's hut) was the one where you fought Maze.

Re: The Northern Wastes

Since you had travel there by ship, I'd imagine that the Northern Wastes are a Scandinavia-ish or Antarctic-ish sort of place. Perhaps even Iceland-ish place. I don't think it is part of Albion.

Re: The Northern Wastes

Yeah, same here. I haven't looked at it recently, but as I recall I had convinced myself that it was Iceland or Greenland. Which... isn't really the same, but for whatever reason I never really thought it was a Scandinavia-analog.

But no, I never really thought it was part of Albion.

Re: The Northern Wastes

Well, the Scandinavia part was wishful thinking on my part. The people there really remind me more of eskimos rather than vikings...

I would like to see northern wastes again. I liked that place. Maybe you can enter the big gate (Forgot the name) and see JoB in dragon form again :P

And maybe you can collect archons armor :)

Sorry, there's a difference?

But I wouldn't say it was that wishful-- I thought the same thing for a bit.

But yeah, I just glanced at the map... I'm thinking either Iceland or some random tiny North Atlantic island for Hook Coast and Greenland or Scandinavia for Northern Wastes (EDIT: Or, if Hook Coast is some random North Atlantic island, then Northern Wastes could be Iceland, too. And wasn't there a volcano? Yeah, we fought Jack there. Does Greenland have many volcanoes? Can't remember. Probably. Either one would work.).

I'd lean towards Greenland and bad cartography rather than Scandinavia and bad cartography just because real-world Britain is positioned wrong for Scandinavia to be positioned there, no matter how bad the maps, but a little ****ed-up scale might do for Greenland.

And the maps I'm going from are ones that I found by Google image searching fable 1 map and then fable tlc map. They were both the first or second result, and they both came from here. We rock.

The threads aren't really relevant, but the maps are good.

Well, there are some tattoos you can get called the Furite Tattoos, and the description describes them as pretty vikingesque.

Re: The Northern Wastes

Well, the Fable Wiki talks about the Northern Wastes as a part of the Old Kingdom, which seems to me like it is in Albion. Not to mention that Molyneux is saying that in Fable 3 we'll get to travel outside of Albion for the first time. And the people of the Northern Wastes don't have different accents either like those from Samarkand do.

Not to worry! My mental gymnastics shall save us all!

In the world where Albion exists, the British/Arthurian-analog Old Kingdom colonized Iceland AND Greenland, making either a possibility for the location of the Northern Wastes.

Are you sure they didn't have different accents? I admit that all British people sound very similar to me (I know, you guys have a bunch of different accents, but they're still somewhat similar) and I seem to recall, f'rinstance, that Knothole Gladesians talked differently, and I believe the Hook Coast and Northern Waste natives may've had their own accent as well.

Or, of course, I could be talking out my ass. Haven't played TLC recently.

The chief of Knothole Glade had a distinctive northen accent, oddly his sons don't. Other than that... I think the Knothole Gladians have identical accents to the rest of Albion.

"Things I neglected to say earlier, part 1" Inuit. "Eskimo" is defunct.

"Things I am saying now, part 1" HEY! Be nice to Greenland. In the summer, in especially temperate areas, can get up near 50! (10 for you celsius-using furriners.) That ain't hardly cold at all.
