If there was any doubt that EA would continue to milk the lucrative cash cow that is Will Wright's Sims franchise, that doubt can now be officially expelled. EA has created an official page for the next title in the series -- titled, appropriately enough, The Sims 3.

The site features little else besides the above image, which teases more details coming on March 19. Our Holmesian deductive reasoning lets us assume that this title will be a return to form for the Sims series, as opposed to another entry in the adorable but divergent MySims line. With work on Spore wrapping up after eight years, it's also possible that Mr. Wright himself may take an active role in the game's development. Guess we'll all have more information come March 19 (finally, something to anxiously look forward to besides Brawl).

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

Oh, man. I used to love the very first Sims series. I never really managed to get into The Sims 2 or any of its add-ons but I keep my eyes open for The Sims 3. Sharon love 'em, too.

By the way, I'm lovin' the new ProjectEgo news logos! Nice touch!

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

Thanks, Steve. I'm just testing a few of them out right now until I make one that's not too stylish or too simple, but is just right. ^_^

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

Okay, I did enjoy Sims 2 (will probably start playing again at som e point), but this is getting ridiculous. Why would we need Sims 3? What more can they do?

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

The Sims will be milked until people stop playing it. The first was interesting and new, then with the 24232123 expansions it got ridiculous and i couldnt take anymore. There were so many that i paid for a separate PC for my sisters to use because they were hogging all my drive space with them.

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

I imagine they'll add more "real life" features to the game, like using deodorant, or brushing hair, being able to follow your sim everywhere (work, etc.). I dunno, stuff like mega deep attention to detail.. course, that was a mere pipe dream with The Sims 2, but almost a reality with the help of some dedicated hackers/modders.

^^ Yeah, like Andy said. It's EA, they milk all their franchises for what they're worth, every single year.

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

That's cool. After all the expansions finally 3.

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

Sims 2 was cool but WAY too addictive for me. :P

If they make it like that, I wont be buying it. I don't want to have to micro manage EVERYTHING my Sim does.

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm looking forward to this. So is the, uh, other half. THe expansion were fine but really had no business being that many seperate expansions. Still, many of them did add cool things, or at least Open For Business, Nightlife, and Freetime kinda did. University...Almost, but tedious.

Granted, most of my mileage out of the game is from the fact that I like to tell "stories" through any medium I get my hands on. You should see the web of lies and corruption I've turned Pleasantview into.

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

I never bought in to any of the expansions :P
I get the original game and stick with it. I'm anxious to see the graphics of this game above all else.

Re: The Sims 3, Confirmed.

I enjoy the first Sims - never played the second installment as it is waaaay to space-hungry for my poor PC.

Dunno if I'd bother with this though - if it comes with 50 pagillion expansions - each taking up an entire hard drive of space - then I'm not interested, quite frankly.
