Theresa's Story (some spoilers)
The pain was all she could remember.
The pain wasn't the most of it though. She also remembered the fear, the anger, and sadness of the horrible disaster. Theresa had watched her father killed by the fearsome masked man and his army of bandits, had watched them torture her mother, then they had turned to her.
"Where is the boy?"
Theresa was to terrified, it felt as if her tongue was tied in a thousand knots. She trembled with fear, tried to speak, but couldn't.
The leader scooped up his sword, and aimed a slash at her, cutting out her own precious eyes. Her scream seemed to ring through all of Albion, warning great danger that was soon to come. The bandits threw Theresa into the woods, and left with her half-dead mother.
The little girl climbed through the woods for days, full of pain, fright, and no vision except the dark times that were soon to come. She could sense her brother was safe, but afraid. Her father's spirit mourned for them, and her mother was in pain, horrible and frightening, in a dark looming cell. The little girl stopped dragging herself against the rough forest floor to withdraw a couple ragged breaths.
Then she heard shouts.
Theresa immediately knew that they were lots of them, coming towards her. Then one big, loud, nasal voice called out, "Who's thaaat?" Then she felt something scoop her up, and a rough voice said, "A little blind girl! Shall we get rid of her, Lord?" Theresa felt something cold against her neck, and screamed. "Please, have mercy! There was a raid in Oakvale and my father was killed, my brother is safe, and my mother is tortured!"
Silence.
"What can we do with a bloody girl, Lord?" asked one of the rough voices. "Were Bandits, we just don't decide to go on and bring some little damsel in distress to our camp, Twinblade!" Theresa felt her heart beat faster. Bandits? Why wasn't she dead right now?
"Well..." said Twinblade, scratching his neck. "She could do the cooking and cleaning for us, all women can do that!"
So Twinblade and his men brought Theresa back to their camp, and set her to cooking meals from the bandits and Twinblade. But she watched the bandits fight sometimes, and learnt much. You may think, Well she is blind! But she could see things though her mind, and into the past, present and future. Her dreams were full of darkness in her whole family's path, and a betrayer.
Soon, Theresa learned to fight amazing, with agility, speed and strength that no other could conquer.
The bandits that didn't accept the little girl standing by their master's side didn't last long at her blade.
Soon, she met her brother, predicted what he was to do for the world future before him, and stayed in the bandit camp, only to be captured by the Betrayer, Maze. Almost killed, her brother had mercy on her between a great choice, and she fled to far away countries, were she died and old woman with terrifying visions haunting her sleep.
