thoughts on new combat system

i want to know what everyone else is thinking about the new fighting system, cause apperantley now its just like soulcalibur or fighting games like that in general. In my opinion this is a huge fuking mistake, dont know why he feels that was a problem. i guess because hes changing it from an rpg to an action adventure but they still couldve kept it the old way or at least gave an option to turn it on or off.

Are you reffering to the use of items to stimulate your power over magic? If so, I totally agree. That's pretty gay that they changed it to that.

He's not changing it to an action adventure from an RPG, it's still going to remain an RPG based game. I like the way they're doing it because in F2 I found myself doing the same sword flourishes and movements everytime I used my strength (swords, hammer,etc). So I like that now I could have my own unique way of fighting as opposed to everyone doing the same thing.

no when you get into battle now the viewpoint changes to that of soul calibur and its more like a street fighter battle

Well can I see that? Because you must have misread. I don't think they'd do that. If they did, I'd still like it because it provides even more uniqueness to my combat.

I knew they used Soul Calibur and Street Fighter as inspiration, but they didn't say anything about camera angles.

well thats what he means, he said he didnt like the way it used to be and he wanted a completely different experience this time around.. theres a chance im wrong but i seriously doubt it

What that they're amking changes? That they're throwing out the old combat system? Where did you get camera angles from that? What I showed was what the camera angles look like, what you showed me was irrelevent to what we are discussing.

He says theyre reinventing the combat system and that its gonna be like soul calibur... thats to me means.. its probably gonna be like soul calibur, in the sense of the camera angle because how else would it be like soul calibur? then again maybe theyr putting in yoda and darth vader and thats what he meant but i doubt it

Why do you keep saying "it's probably"? They've shown videos of what it's going to look like. They wouldn't release false information. If I'm wrong and you are right, when the game comes out I will max out my +rep for you.

Still, this entire thread is poppycock. It is **** of the poppiest variety.

We've seen the combat from Fable 3 several times now. It's not going to go side-view soul cali-bahhhh style.

Yes but I was reffering my information to visual information. In the video you could see how the combat works, not just hear PM say it. So they wouldn't release a false video that let's say was videoshopped.

I haven't tried the game yet, so i'm not going to complain about the fighting system untill I try it out myself......

You are wrong, you need to read and watch every last interview before you have an opinion. He said he want the fluidity of those games so that you could pull out your gun while still fighting with and sword at the same time.

So like if there is a guy in front of you and one in back, you can shoot one while stabbing another.

It has nothing to do with camera angles....
