Time-Zones

I hope since the world of Fable-2 is going to be "HUGE" that there will be time zones so like it is night at one part and winter then you (I know you cant teleport but if you could) you go to the other side and it would be day and summer...

(I didnt see this anywhere else sorry if someone already said this.)

Re: Time-Zones

..I don't know about time zones. I don't think Albion is going to be as big as...say..the earth.

Re: Time-Zones

You mean seasons?

Re: Time-Zones

Well seasons and time zones...

Well I understand what you are saying Seph but maybe it could be more islands than land so it is still kinda small just spread acrossed a planet.

Re: Time-Zones

But, didn't they do that in the first Fable? I do recall two places called Snowspire and Oakvale.... In Snowspire it had snow, and in Oakvale it was, well, oaky... But I don't think that Fable 2 will be that big. Although the season aspect may be incorporated it won't have different time zones.

Re: Time-Zones

Did you see what i said about islands spread out? That would add more to sailing and piracy ARGH!

And it could have been summer in snowspire but its up north so it snows in the summer

Re: Time-Zones

I see what your trying to say but to have different seasins than other places say would require the islands to be REALLY far away and i highly doubt Fable 2 will be that scale or even close.

Re: Time-Zones

I actually think the idea of different time-zones is pretty interesting, at least it would mean when the shops close in one region of the map you could teleport to the other side of the world where the shops are just about to open. ^_^

Or even better than that... THE PUBS! :w00t:

Re: Time-Zones

I don't think that they will be able too put time zones in, in the first little video of Fable 2 peter(don't know how to spell his last name) said that there is secrets of Fable 2 in it. and I didn't see anything like day or night or even snow, so if there is going to be seasons or time changes I think that it would be bigger than some little dog

Re: Time-Zones

I can imagine it being pretty annoying when you're about to go questing, but your stopped by 6 feet of snow...

Re: Time-Zones

Eh, time zones. Really, what's the point? Do you really need telport-lag? And why did someone say there were no Cullis Gates/Teleportation??? There better be.

And my impression wasn't that Albion was an Earth-size world. My impression was that Albion was more a nation, as evidenced by the fact that "Albion" is an old name for "Britain", as in the island (not Ireland). You seemed to be looking at it as Albion=Earth, not Albion=Place on Earth.

If you were able to actually leave Albion (New World, anyone?) then timezones'd be cool, but it'd only matter if you could teleport. If you had to sail all the way then timezones wouldn't be evident anyway, and you can just go "oh, there are timezones-- you just can't tell."

Re: Time-Zones

Whoa! I just had an amazing game idea! Sim Earth! The game would be a virtual representation of the entire earth. It could be built on the same idea as Google Earth but you could walk around in it. I doubt we have the computing capacity today but in the next twenty years quite possibly. Can you say Web 3.0. Twenty to Thirty years from now a huge proportion of the work force in industrialized nations will have grown up playing video games. I know it has shaped the way I think.
