Training, eating?
Hey everybody
Since I'm going to have a LOT (24/7) of free time until fall, I've decided to get myself into shape again. I'm wondering what kinds of food to eat, and what kind of food to avoid?
I'm 169cm (5.5 feet) tall, and weigh 56.5kg (124.5 pounds).
I'm going to focus on endurance.
This is my training schedule, a lighter version of the Swedish army's "Training before applying for heavy service" (since I wanted in the paratroopers, but didn't realize until later and screwed up..):
Monday: Running - 3km (1.8 miles)
Tuesday: Running - 2km (1.2 miles)
Wednesday: Marching - 4.5km (2.7 miles), every second week with backpack.
Thursday: Various strength exercises.
Friday: Running - 1.5km (0.9 miles), every second week with backpack.
So, getting to the questions:
What should I eat? I want to gain weight, since I look like a stick.. But I don't want to look like some guy going to the gym 4 times a week!
Should I gain more weight before attempting this?
Is the balance between strength and endurance alright?
And ofcourse any other opinions on the matter, are more than welcome
