The co-developers of the highly acclaimed co-op zombie fest series Left 4 Dead have revealed their next project. It is another team based game and doesnt stray far from the foundations laid out by Left 4 Dead. Known as Evolve, it pits a four-player crew of alien hunters against a separate player-controlled monster that grows larger and more powerful over the course of matches. The game is powered by the CryEngine 3...

Quote from Turtle Rock Interview

Each hunter features its own unique items and abilities, and though the monster is outnumbered, it's said to be a more than formidable foe for the four-player crew. Like Left 4 Dead, Evolve will heavily promote variety and replayabilty in its levels. Following the collapse of THQ, full ownership of the 'Evolve' IP was acquired by 2K for $10.8 million.

It is set to release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this autumn.

Evolve first details revealed: Solo experience, wildlife and box art

Yeah I really like the concept, thought it was a great touch with the smaller creatures running from the big one (Jurassic Park style) and the big monster has to hunt and eat the smaller ones to grow stronger. Simple concept behind it but works really well judging by the gameplay videos I have seen so far. Like how the large monster has to stay hidden until it is strong enough to fight and the hunters become the hunted. Would add decent amount of tension to the games and the levels look well designed also and good for ambushes.

Game looks pretty awesome there, but damn all these titles getting delayed to next year. At this rate there's hardly anything to look forward to for the rest of the year, 2015 is going to burn through everyone's wallets.

Sept/Oct was looking very crowded so in a way I was happy with some delays but now next year is starting to look crowded and straight after Christmas when everyone has no cash as new release dates. My birthday is in Feb so might be able to sweet talk some for that but others I may struggle with.
