Tymolus's Statement

Okay, because last night I was involved in a couple of little arguments spanning like three or more threads, I figured that I'd come to the tech lab since I have a 2 hour break between classes and try to clear things up in a brand new thread. This thread is especially for those that I upset last night, so please hit a joint and read on.

Firstly, I want to apologize for flaming. It's not normal for me to flame anybody except politically, and I don't care to do that much on Fable forums lol. So, for example, Raztis, I'm sorry for saying things like "you're retarded." It was rude, moronic, and downright ludicrous to say such a thing to you. Now I know that we made up and were chill last night and I like you a lot, but I want people who maybe didn't see my apology last night to see it now. Because I had no reason to flame you whatsoever, and because I did flame you, I in turn got flamed, which is karma and fine. But FOR THE RECORD--I'm sorry to you and anyone else I upset during the process, by rough language, flaming, etc., and gladly admit I was wrong to do so.

Secondly, I want to explain one more time just where I stand on the issue of game length and why I jumped on the issue to begin with. Look, I do NOT disagree that this game would be improved with a longer story. That would be awesome. However the only thing people have complained about (not the ONLY but the biggest thing, I should say) is that the game is too short. Here's my position. Fable 1 was decidely short and to my knowledge Fable 2 was never marketed as being any longer, only bigger with more things to do. Now, I've been quoted as saying things like arguing for the short length being a con to the game has no validity. Let me rephrase that. If you feel that the game should have been longer, there is validity to that and I now gladly acknowledge that validity. My point, which was put across in a very wrong, flameful, and argumentative way, is just that I don't feel it's a big issue since the primary focus of the game is not the main story. Now, some people have an issue with it any way, and that's fine. Some people don't like the "filler" aspects of the game, which is fine. But those aspects are why I was so excited about Fable 2, as were many others. If they're not to your liking, then of course you'll be frustrated with a short story, but I just assert that a short story was to be expected, and if that's the biggest complaint on an otherwise AMAZING game, it doesn't phase me at all. If it does YOU, then sorry, the game just isn't cut out for ya.

A couple, well maybe one person has denied that the game is innovative. This is just simply put, a fundamental disagreement that we have. I don't really know how to argue for its innovation because the game does a good enough job of that by simply existing. So if you disagree with me on that, let's just agree to disagree, and hopefully even if you don't find it innovative and too short you'll still enjoy the game while it lasts.

So I hope that this makes up for my being rude and stuff in previous threads and posts. This game just simply exceeded my expectations, none of which were a lengthy story or armor (another big complaint--but Peter announced early on there would be no armor and I'm one who agrees with him on it). I just hate to see prospective buyers turned away because people are picking at the length and such. I love the game, and I know that most of you who are frustrated with it love it too. So from here on out there will be no flaming or arguing from my end. We all agree on more than we disagree and I intend to focus on that from now on.

*sigh* still almost 2 hours to go 'till class. :ninja:
