Ugh, aging system?

I know I'm a little late to get this game, but I finally have it, and I'm just starting out.

What I want to know, though, is how does the age system work? I'm sorry if it's such a noob question, but seriously. Every time I look for the answer on the web somewhere, all I can find is speculation from before the game came out. "Does anyone have any idea how the aging system will work?" Well, the game's out now, and I know most of you have played it. I know I can find out myself by playing, but I really want to be careful and find out beforehand. It doesn't even list my age in the logbook like the first Fable did.

I've just searched through fifteen pages of this forum and couldn't find anyone else talking about it.

How do I age, and how fast?

And are there ways to become younger again?

Re: Ugh, aging system?

Well you basically age until you'r 50 or so. You'll look old and ragged (particularly if you choose the
sacrifice your looks option to the Shadow Court.
), but then you mysteriously return to your youthful self at the end. I don't know why, but I think it may have something to do with which ending you choose, or sleeping in the Castle Fairfax bed.

Re: Ugh, aging system?

I chose ego at the end and still ended up looking as youthful as ever.
I don't think you really age in this game..

Re: Ugh, aging system?

I didn't notice any aging either.

But my red glowing eyes always disappear after I've finished the main story - before I sleep in the bed :unsure:

Re: Ugh, aging system?

I dont think you age like as in like your teens suddenly to mid years but I think your looks just kind of change and become a bit more mature when you start off (when you wake up) your a bit weedy looking and as you get older you start to look different and I dont mean because the skills are making you taller or bigger whatever I mean just generally

Re: Ugh, aging system?

i agree with lunamoon, although i think lionhead did what they did in fable 1, the more you leval up in will the older you get so basiclly:
  • Strenth: More muscle and more bulk
  • Skill: Taller
  • Will: Older

Re: Ugh, aging system?

Well, um, my character is definitely much older. She's had wrinkles ever since she came back from the spire.

Anyway, I heard something about the Brightwood Tower quest (involving this "Chesty" character) having some sort of age restorative properties. I've encountered the quest, but how does it work, exactly?

And sorry for reviving my old thread. >.>;

Re: Ugh, aging system?

you age normally, depending on your decisions in the main quest (not going to mention any spoilers ;) ) you finish it as an old man or someone looking around 40s. upon completing the main quest your character remains at the look of around 40s indefinitely regardless of main quest decisions.

Re: Ugh, aging system?

I play good, and donate a lot, so my Hero never looks a day over 30.:)

Re: Ugh, aging system?

I'm pretty sure I read at the lionhead community that you age every time you learn a new ability.

so

strength = Muscle + Age
Skill = height + Age
Will = Blue lines + Age

When you beat the game, donating gold to the temple of light is suppose to reverse aging, but that quest that gets you your "ultimate weapon", plus the birghtwood tower quest (when you buy it) are suppose to "unage" you as well.

Re: Ugh, aging system?

You age until your about 30 or so and than after that your the same age the rest of the game

Re: Ugh, aging system?

That would be kinda weird running around gunning down villages and fighting off undead at the age of 101....

just thought of that when i read the post's title...

Re: Ugh, aging system?

well looks like everything makes you age lol

Re: Ugh, aging system?

your a child for the 1st 30 mins of the game, then your a young adult, then you go to the spire and leave it. when you come back your old.

hope that sums it up
