UK LAN Games Centre Opens

The UK's biggest games centre opened its doors in Birmingham on Friday, known as The Omega Sektor. Featuring more than 400 top-spec PCs and next-gen consoles for LAN and System Link gaming at its best. The centre has 2 floors and is a cross between a posh nightclub and a huge internet cafe which covers more than 22,000 sq ft, and has more than 100 games playable on a range of PCs and next generation consoles. Also has three dedicated publisher areas with titles from big name companies like THQ, Square Enix and Activision as well as a family-friendly zone that aims to encourage children and adults to play together. Its the 25th of its kind across the world and touted as the biggest.

Wow. That sounds awesome! It's about time Birmingham had something half-decent and worth visiting in it! ^_^

I'll definitely be checking it out next time I'm going through B'ham. Shame they couldn't build it in Rugeley though...

They have the Bull Ring which attracts people from all over Europe to there, so i wouldnt say they had nothing. Rugeley wouldnt get anything like that as we are an old town and that centre could probably fit most of town in there

Im thinking about trying to get a big group of friends and go there for a day out or something and enter some competitions or something and go to bar there :P

Id say a couple of Million £ easily, the computers alone would have cost a small fortune, as well as the electricity needed to run the place on top of building production costs.

Yes, but they probably got some good deals for the vast amount of hardware they were buying. In sweden you pay a special tax for everything you buy, it is added to the price- but companys dont pay it. So maybe you got that tax in the UK also, and therefore they dont have to pay as much as a regular customer;)

Everything is taxed here, 17.5% i believe VAT is. Oh without a doubt they got a good deal, 400 top of the range PC's and over 100+ games in 2 floor complex with bars and such inside. Its going to be hugely popular, ive been hearing about it on radio at work and already been a couple of thousand people there.

Actually, the first thing should be the history, setup and use of WASD-buttons:D And that ctrl and duck is the same, just as shift and sprint. And Lol is a real word.

Well, the nooblets need to learn the basics before teabagging right? 'Cos teabagging is a fine and precise art. The elegant way of humiliation.

And how is the mothers, pre-school kids and other barbarians going to know what you mean when you scream; "Strafe! CC! OOM! Lol! Cv! bbq! Nerf!"
