Unable to think of a sutible title...

Maybe my title should have been this "!$@% GAHH!!! ERRGH!@$%$!" Sorry, but lately I've been neck deep in school projects, homework, and other things that I have been feeling super stressed with a touch of anxiety... I felt like letting off some steam, I just had to talk to somebody. I'm sure you have all felt this way one time or another. *Sighs* Maybe its just that it almost report card time and my grades have been slipping, or that my horrific short term memory has caused me to forget to do a myriad of schoolwork and I only remember at the last minute, around 10 PM, after I have spent much of my time chatting with friends or playing Oblivion. Well, just felt like saying something. You may not care a whole lot, seeing as you aren't my parents and it's not your life, but whatever...
(or its just those crazy teenage hormones)

regardless, I feel like I'm going  x 2.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

All been there, I reckon...I think I almost went stir-fry when I was in Grammar school with the constant "you girls are in the top 2 percent of the country. Do not let your school and country down"...no pressure then...:sly:

I could do the horrendous parenty thing and say that your gaming and online chatting should take a back seat until you're on top of your school work but then again that would make me officially my mother in every possible respect and I refuse to do that. So play more games and talk to more people until you just don't care about anything anymore :D

Alternatively, write out some kind of bizzarely organised timetable that lets you work out what you should be doing and when and how much time is left for actually having a life...dunno how the American education system works but at 16 over here, if you haven't left school already, you got to work your backside off just to scrape by...but it leads you onto bigger and better things so it is ulitmately worth it...

Oh my gosh. I'm not my mother. I'm my DAD!!! O.o

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I know exactly how you feel, Fablefreak...
I've been sitting here, stupified as mountains and mountains of work are just piled upon me...
I have 2 weeks to write 1500 word essays, plus a research project, 4 tests, a solo presentation... and the fact that I just had to do all those things already not 2 weeks ago....
This is madness... madness!
I've probably been procrastinating a lot too... but I'm just not the sort of person who can work on something non stop, it makes me frustrated... and I keep realizing I'd rather talk to andy all day... and I'm not changing that... so that leaves me unable to sleep basicly because then all my papers just get written at 1am...
it's just madness... I think it's trying to kill me... O.o

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Hell, I'd rather do anything all day than study...I'm meant to be researching at the moment and although I really need to crack on with it, for some reason even the ironing is looking tempting...my problem is not just procrastination but downright laziness - been a very long time since my brain has had to work hard (only so much intelligence required to understand Spot the Dog and the accursed Teletubbies...)

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Seems no matter where you live, or who you are we all got one thing in common: School is crazy. Bad short-term memory? You betcha I've got that - remembering you've got a big math test the day before the big thing isn't very nice, nor uncommon in my case.

And with me going on such a computer...ish school, getting your school laptop going KABOMB! and being out of service for three weeks sorta hurts you aswell - got tons of stuff I need to do now.

So uhm... dunno what I want to have said but uh... take pleasure of some sort in that you are not alone, I guess....

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I understand alot has been happening lately at my school also and my grades are going under fast... im not sure what to do either... but I will try to get through it.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I think school is harder than it used to be - too many tests and not enough continual assessment. I hate how everything is decided these days by one test and if you're nervous or sick or whatever, you fail even though your record up to that point has been exemplary. Happened to me when I got a weird glandular fever/chronic fatigue syndrome hybrid disease and passed out in my exams...nearly failed all of them and had to appeal to reclaim my A grades...then was told they would not consider my record to date and instead would have to resit all my exams. In order to do this I would have to pay £650 in fees :realmad:

Needless to say I didn't bother - had no money of that kind and besides, I knew I was more than capable of achieving A grades as I always had done before I got ill, so decided I had nothing to prove. Had I been going to go to uni I would have had to raise the cash and resit - but I didn't want to go, so there was no real need to prove to other people that I was smart enough...

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Yeah i know the feeling, although it was a while ago for me i know school is a very stressful time and when you start to get snowed under you start to feel that all you ever do is work so when you start to relax and enjoy some free time your work gets pushed into the back of your mind and then when you realise how much you still have left to do thats when you start to feel like its never going to end. Just do your best and work as hard as you can and no-one can ask anymore of you and you will know that you tried your hardest and no matter what the result you can be pleased with yourself.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Yeah, as tempting as it may seem to put it off, it only backs up and gets worse so best to tackle it head on. I used to hate it when we were given projects at school and were told to have it finished in two months' time - I'd think "awesome! I've got ages!" and do nothing until the last few days until the deadline and then panic...

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I'm actually in the same position I have two thick books to read before my Certification test on April 23th that I haven't cracked in a month. I'm talking almost 1000 pages of dense technical information. In addition to 50+Hours of practice tests. Chances are good that I'll be way down on my activity for the next month.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I'm a lazy SOB, so I don't really have these problems. Well, that and the fact that I suck at math. Social studies is brain-dead easy for me (and I have two this year-- MD and US Hist), and English is easy aside from all the analysis crap, which I'm not thorough enough at. Physics is basically a second math class.

I'd be good in everything, if it weren't for the fact that you people are all screwing me obver in my Tech Ed classes (Digital Electronics; Power, Engineering, and Transport; and Architecture (where I am now) because they all have computers and you people post enough that I get distracted for way too long replying. I have 42 minutes left and have to do my window and door schedule (and add windows to my floor plan), dimension said floor plan, and do this handout on the stairs... I'm screwed.

I will now get off this website. Really. I will. Seriously... now I just need to convince myself of that.

****... I just realized how truly screwed I am-- FableFreak, my sympathy just doubled tenfold (no, that doesn't make any sense). I just realized how much crap I have to do. And just when I was drifting in a haze of rosy forgetfulness.

GAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Hmm. So I guess many of us are in the same boat, so to speak. Well, I've always been a good student, long as I can remember. It was funny though, a few weeks back i forgot my English homework (before that I always turned everything in on time) and my English teacher starts doing this dance like she's going to sh*t herself. She is stupified that I, one of her best students, totally forgot his homework. I just said to her and her sh*t dance "Nobody's perfect..."

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

My grades are doing fine, its girl issues that I am dealing with at the moment. But no worries, as I am slowly fixing it in the most positive way ever!^_^

I hear you though, FableFreak. School has always been a pain my side. I am very glad that its almost over. Junior year is wrapping up quite nicely and Senior year should be a breeze.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

well think of it this way Freak... at least you aren't bullied along with it.

Most teachers for you... you could be the kid who never does his homework or the kid who forgets it once and they still look at you the same way which is totally unfair.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Hah just be like me and have everyones friendship, includin the staff^_^ They don't expect much from you.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I was a terrible student. I never believed that I could do any of the school work so I didn't. I went to summer school 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grades and graduated with a 1.69 GPA. I went on to graduate from a two year college with a 3.5 GPA and my final semester had a 4.0 with advanced Physics, Chemistry and Calculus.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

mine would be freak of nature

yer sure

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

Ah, school- it's the best of times and the worst of times. But mostly the worst of times. Like Angel said, school is harder now than it used to be as I can imagine. It's fricking crazy how much homework and whatnot they believe you are capable of completing! If I'm not already crazy right now (as if!), then by the end of high school I will be.

Re: Unable to think of a sutible title...

I`ve taken the road to concentrate on things I like - Chemistry, History and Estonian for example. I really like some subject and I want to learn them. But as I`m not very keen on Phisycs I simply not study it so hard and just try to do the tests. But this still wont save me from homework, which for some reason I dont really have. Or maybe I´m just too lazy to do them. Anyway, I understand your problem and I`ve been there a couple of times but I have to say that school for me isn`t too hard and my grades are all fine. But sometimes a little vioce in my head says: "Hey, why did you go there if you dont take it seriosly!" Ahhh... ...
