Villagers after the Darkness [may contain spoilers]

I got a question,

Preparing for the darkness I didn't managed to get 6.500.000 gold in the treasury room, and after I defeated the darkness all my towns were complete emptey except for quest givers and town guards. Will the villagers return? If so how long will it take?
