What do you drive?

As i recently passed my driving test and will be getting myself a car soon i got curious about what the members here drive. So what do you drive or what would you like to drive if you could?

Pictures are appreciated too of course. ^_^

Re: What do you drive?

Hehe - Bugatti Veyron FTW...sadly I don't drive one. I don't even drive. But I'm real good at crashing :D

If I ever passed my test before I'm dead I'd be happy having something that got me from A to B. Preferably an old VW Golf or Polo coz those things last forever - cars these days don't seem to last as long and cost more to fix when they screw up. Old VW's are renowned for not rusting easily too...my mate at college had a Jetta and it was about a thousand years old and had only ever needed taking into the garage once whereas her dad had some new bells and whistles vehicle which needed something fixing or updating every couple of years or so.

What car are you getting?

Great choice with the Bugatti Veyron. Not the prettiest looking car but the power of that thing is crazy. The SSC Ultimate Aero TT would be an excellent choice too because thats the only road legal car to outdo the Veyron on accelerating and decelerating.

The old VW Golfs are much more reliable than the new ones, my ex girlfriend had a new one after having a reliable old Citroen AX for ages and it was forever breaking down apparently.

I might settle for a Corsa or something, im not entirely sure yet.

*cough*don't get a fiesta*cough*

Hehe - for sheer cringe factor you should get a Citroen Dolly

And yeah, Bugatti's are pretty ugly but who's going to notice when you're going a gazillion miles an hour? Apart from the police, of course...

Fiestas arent bad first cars the newer ones are actually quite nice to look at but parts for Fords are expensive these days. Mostly Japanese cars that are the most reliable it seems looking at many reviews and such. I learnt in a Focus and they arent bad cars really, i used 3 different ones as my Instructor kept getting giving new models to try. The gears and clutch on them was easygoing and made them quite a nice drive.

If I could...

It's the only car with only 1 front-seat. You have headsets to talk with the 2 passangers who can sit in the back, because its a very loud car with no sound-dampening (?) stuff.

Official speed record: 395 km/h
Unofficial speed record: 409 km/h

Re: What do you drive?

Would it be bigamy if I married that car?

Perfect for putting the kids in the back seats and conveniently losing the headset.

Re: What do you drive?

Well I used to drive an Acura Legend (1994), a Chevrolet Silverado (1992), a Mazda MX6 (1995) and now I have a VW Jetta (1995). The Acura was a good car, but the gas was too costly, and four door granny mobiles don't catch a ladies eye, and then I gave it to my mom, and she bought me the Silverado, which I appropriately named Lucky, because well that's what it got me, lol, it was most likely the best vehicle I've ever owned, except it would destory whatever gas I had put in it, (by which I mean the awesome V8, and My lead foot would) I was always impressing chicks in that, but again the gas was killing My checks, so I sold it to My mom, (she likes buying My old vehicles it seems) and then I bought the Mazda, it was cheap, it was decently fast, and it was good on gas, but every three months I would have to replace something, which I was ok with, I had riends to help out, but then I moved back to My home town, and I couldn't afford to do the repairs, and eventually she exploded, (I miss Jade) well now I have a Jetta, and it seems to be a good car, got to fix a couple minor things to make sure I can drive it for the next six months, and then I'm gonna start giving it the race car treatment. lol.

Some not bad cars in that list i must say, i do quite like some of the Mazdas. The RX8 is quite a sleek looking car too.

Think of the rep they would get getting dropped off to school in that. :neo:

Re: What do you drive?

Hmm...yeah...and the crushed up Wotsits, spilt cans of drink and sticky fingers wiped all over the interior...

And that's just the teenagers - let alone the little 'uns...

If my kids want rep they gotta earn it for themselves - not leech off of mine...

I would like to be known as the cool dad though. I mean my mates dad drove this to work one day and even let his son drive it.

Pics were taken on the car park at my workplace, and 3rd pic has his wifes Aston Martin DB9 in the pic too.

Not my favourite car but a rare one and expensive none the less.

Re: What do you drive?

He lets his wife drive a DB9? Is he insane?

*shudders at combination of stereotypical female lack of spatial awareness and wonderful car - even though it's just a DB7 with knobs on*

Shes drove quite a few Astons in her time and they have had quite the collection of cars.

He's a brave man. If I was a bloke, my wife would be allowed to sit next to me in the car on two conditions:

No yapping

No touching ANYTHING except to put on her seatbelt and get in/out of the car as and when it was required.

There would be no "babe on board" stickers messing up my back windscreen and certainly no fluffy dice...or pink tax disc holders.

And there is no way she would be getting on my leather upholstery if she was in labour either - she could damn well walk the 8 miles to hospital. Either that or valet the thing herself afterwards. And I mean IMMEDIATELY afterwards.

If she wanted her own car I'd get her a bicycle. With stabilizers just to be on the safe side.

Re: What do you drive?

I'd love this:

Bmw 2002 Turbo ('73-'74)

They dont travel in the same car very often so thats not too bad.

Some women do take the pink stereotypical 'girly' type of attitude way over the top. Then again some guys do take the typical guys and cars attitude way to far too.
