what to do with books after read?

okay so i have tons of books in my items bag, such as those books for my dog and like expressions for me. if i went and sold the books, would i lose thsoe expressions and my dog will lose those skills? or what

Nope, you wouldn't.

Your dog does not lose the 'already-trained' abilities. If you try to train something to your dog, which he already has, it doesn't work either.
