What's up with the Temple of Light?

My little brother completed the game with the Love option. He did the "Save the Temple of Light" quest. Then, in his words, "One day I went [To Oakfield] and everything was fine, and the next day I went there and everything was horrible!"
The Assassination Guild now lives in a ruin of the Temple of Light, and there's this gross fog everywhere. My brother and I are confused. Was there something we missed? Or a quest we can do to make everything better? There are Hollow Men, and I, in my game, ran the Assassination Guild ou-
Maybe that has something to do with it? My brother didn't kill the Assassination people. Would that have something to do with it, perhaps?

You have to stop the temple of shadows tainting the water in the wellspring , I hope that helps because my first time around i came back and oakfield was like a dead town but then my second time playing before the spire i stopped the temple of shadows from tainting the water and i came back from the spire and oakfield was the same the only thing is you need to get all you sacrifing at the temple of shadows over with before you do that quest because then theres nobody at the temple of shadows and its over run with hollow men

So you have to choose between the Temple of Shadows or the Temple of Light aye?

Im with the Temple of shadows all the way...screw Oakfield, its just a wanna-be Oakvale.

there is a quest you must compleat to stop the shodow temple form destoying the temple of light. this must be done before going to the spire the first time. there is nothing that can be done now, and it has nothing to do with what choice you make at the end of the game.
