When I get live, my saves aren't carried

Everytime I log onto my life account, my gamertag switches to a different one and I can't use my saves on another gamertag. Am I able to switch the gamertag for my Windows Live ID? or If I redeem my code on my new gamer tag, will my old gamertag have the limited edition items too?

i'd say that your saved games only apply to the gamertag you're logged into at the time. maybe worth a try to copy your saved file to another gamertag, not sure if you can thugh, but check it out
