When you start a new game, does anything carry over?

So I'm actually trying to get 1000/1000 achievements on the 360 and I'm nearly there but I'm going to have to start a new game (I died a few times and I don't want to be evil with my current character). A friend had told me that if I start a new game I get to keep my money and weapons, is that true?

As in you start a new game and have all your money and weapons from your other save file? No, it doesn't work that way.

well you can but you give it to someone you really tust start new game and get it back

if you have two controllers you could trade the stuff to your new save
