Why do people want money so badly?

I see many threads about people buying and selling items. Are some people that poor? I have a lot of money, it isn't that hard to get. My friend is also really poor, but I gave him 500k so he is ok now, but is it really that hard to earn money in this game?

no its not hard to make money but for ex: you gave your friend money and now he's doing fine, if you didn't he would do meh but see when you start out in the game it is really hard for you to make money, thats my reason, i would add more but my hands are freezing because I AM CANADIAN lololol

Well for pure people it's hard to make money, especially in the beginning. I own all houses/shops/stalls (Most, anyways) and I set them most of them to 0% and the major shops (Inns and weapon shops) to +20%. I still only make about 10k every five minutes. I think people just want a huge amount of money, it makes their cyber:O a little bigger. Plus, people don't just want to GIVE OUT their hard-earned weapons, they want at least a little compensation, even if it is worthless.

Oh, on the other hand, those Hero Dolls have actually created a little bit of an economy. When people realized that 100k was nothing, they jacked the price up on the hero dolls, which means that doll buyers need to get more money. That's just a theory though....

Oh crap, I thought this was aimed more towards the "post-completion" crowd. At the beginning of the game, it is very hard to make money. Well, more like average in terms of RPGs. You have to save up for stuff and such.

An econmomy in this game would be rather pointless because of the major exploit with the system that give you money while your offline, you can easily make 100 mil.

money serves no purpose in the game other than buying shops or master weapons. once you have bought the fairfax castle and the weapons you want, gold is then worth as much as a pauper bonnet
