Re: why?

No one knows why except Peter Molyneux, so ask him not us.

Re: why?

He felt that the Sword Of Aeons was overpowered so took its power down and gave you an alternate choice.

that was dumb all he had to do was make avos tear the same as aeos so you still could make a choice. plus why have a weapon that you have to kill you sister to get a weapon weaker than solus and breaver?

But they were overpowered so they cut power....

Re: why?

yeah i get what you mean cause after you get the sword you have to face jack and other stuff.

Re: why?

Sometimes having an overpowerd weapon cuts the fun alittle, but still a sweet looking wep :P

That's true, but needs to be explained a bit more:

In original Fable, the Sword of Aeons was extremly powerful, but the game ended after the final battle with Jack of Blades. The Sword was never meant to be used in a later part of the game.

In Fable TLC, where the sword was reduced in power, the Sword was meant to be used in the Lost Chapters after you've defeated Jack of Blades. Now, if the Sword would be kept at it's Original Fable power it would be too powerful to make the following part of the game even a bit challanging. So instead of making all the monsters more powerful, they simply balanced the Sword.
