I'm playing my character as a moral and benevolent leader so therefore I picked all of the "good" king decisions, draining the treasury and my personal fortune of 1.5 million. What I'm banking on (no pun intended), is that I can overcome this loss through the income from all of the property I own.

I currently own about 90% of the property in the game and all of the prices are set at normal so that I can keep the love of the people. Would it be possible to just wait out the invasion and accumulate the necessary fortune through my property empire or am I screwed in advance due to my policy decisions?

You can do that but make sure you have a good amount of gold in the treasury before the *Spoiler* comes. In another thread I read it was like 8Mill. If you want to actually get the money without say leaving your x-box on for hours you should set everything to "Highest" then put it back down to lowest for a few hours after you've collected enough gold. The *spoiler* comes when you have 100-199 days left.

Will setting the rate to lowest actually improve my standing over time? Setting it to low after leaving it on high for a while didn't seem to positively impact their disposition towards me when I uped the rates in Bowerstone Market.

I would assume as much if it's anything like Fable II where your morality is also effected by how much of a douche you are to your people. I've also read that someone did it and it worked. But I personally don't know off hand so either wait until someone else can clarify this, take the risk or play it safe.

Look i have completly expiremented with all this, as for the deadline, just dont attend the court that has to do with mistpeak and then your good, you can play as long as you like and do whatever you want(raise money) just dont go into the court till your ready, its as simple as that and it doesn't have to be as complicated as yaw make it to be

That still doesn't answer my question regarding the effects of lowering property costs.

When your rent and all that and prices are put to the highest that doesn't change how people react to you that i have saw, all you have to do is put it back to whatever u want when you have enough gold, then it will be all good.

Raising rent prices will not affect your moral standing, but the people will hate you for charging so bloody much. For all the Niceties you perform for the sake of the country at the Monarchy's expense, the least they could do is pay their rent without complaining
