Wondering about swimming/diving...

Okay, so I finally saw something not too long ago (http://forums.projectego.net/fable-2-interviews-4356/, I believe) that explicitly stated at some point that you could swim and dive.

Now, assuming that by "dive" they were speaking in line with the phrase "SCUBA dive" and not "dive into the pool," what does everyone think about it?

Do you think there will be an artificial means of breathing underwater (Will, mechanical pumps circulating air, whatever) or that you'll be restricted to your own lungs? I'm hoping for Will-extended air, but who knows?

Do you think there'll be extensive underwater areas with the same stuff as on land (roving enemies, chests, plants, etc) or that it'll just be featureless sand/rock/whatever? My guess'd be that it'll have some of the same stuff as on the surface, but not all.

And do you think they'll bother to put in places only accessible by swimming or swimming and diving? I hope so, places like the inaccessible area across the water in the Guild Woods and a couple others. Only, you know, with more to do there.

And how do you think they'll handle the dog with swimming and diving? I'm not really sure about that one, aside from the fact that (real) dogs can't swim underwater...

Re: Wondering about swimming/diving...

Yes, I had already read that (though not regularly, so I missed hearing that dogs can dive for a short time). I was operating under the assumption that that thread was more about the dog and whining about it than swimming. Hence my creation of a new one, though yes, I had forgotten that one temporarily as well.

And yeah, brief periods, but not long enough for a lot of things.

Re: Wondering about swimming/diving...

I assume the diving underwater for short periods of time will be just to find hidden chests and loot etc and all round exploration.

Re: Wondering about swimming/diving...

I think by 'diving' the mean you can explore the waters, wereas in some games you can simple swim forward, across the water line.

Yeah, that was what I was hoping/assuming as well.

And yeah, that is also what I suspect. I'd rather it were bigger, but, well, in the immortal words of what seems to be everyone on this site at one time or another: that's not Fable. Or at least, not really. If you're spending more time underwater than land it just ends up being that old game whose name I don't remember starring a dolphin on the Sega Genesis. Well, either that or Aquaman (which really kinda sucked, by the way. The game, I mean. I don't know about the comic or whatever.)

Re: Wondering about swimming/diving...

I think by diving they mean just below the surface not full exploration of an under water area. Perhaps you'll have to dive under some land mass to find a secret pirate cove or something when you reach the other side.

I hope it's extensive in this game, lol. If it is they might as well incorporate sports into it as a a side thing too lol Remember football(soccer) was always fun to play in those days as i guess it is now.
